Hi and Welcome to Grexing the Vote, the conference where we discuss all aspects of politics and the media. In this conf, we will be discussing in detail the 1996 presidential campaign, as well as all other campaigns. This is also a place to debate all the hot issues of the day, as well as any and all worthwhile causes. In addition, since the political world and the media are co-dependent upon each other, this conf is also dedicated to a thorough discussion of the media in all its forms. Want to talk about last night's nightline or whatever scandalous topic the talk shows have been tossing around? Here's a perfect place to do so, a forum for political and media junkies everywhere! There are no rules or guidelines here, other than to respect each other's opinions, even when at odds with them. The two greatest dangers to a democracy are ignorance and apathy. If the messages in this conf inform anyone at all, open anyone's eyes, than it will have served its purpose!

I am looking for a co-fw for this conf, since I hope and expect this to get busy as we head into the next political season. If anyone is interested, send me email.
This conference is being re-vamped. The World conf is going to be merged into this and discontinued. This conf has had an issue focus anyway, and its hoped that by combining the two confs we can come up with one stronger conf that has broader appeal than either World or Politics had in previous incarnations. When this becomes effective, Omni (Jim Reuter), who is fw of world, will become co-fw here.
Okay, this conf is now NewsLine96...The Current Events conf. The World conf has been discontinued. The focus of politics was too narrow and this conf had evolved into a broader issues conf anyway. For an introduction to this new incarnation, go to item 40.
Effective midnite March 5 1997, I hereby resign as f-w. I am doing this for personal reasons, and should not be construed as personal malice toward anyone living or dead.
