Hey, life is good, isn't it?
speak for yourself, dude.
IHB- it's spring... even if it is currently snowing. Someone tell the weather the season changed, okay? <grins>
Saw Robin Williams last night. Laughed *a lot*. Ate s'mores. Caps won. All good.
found a ride to a place where I can watch the UM game tonight, and my frozen four tickets arrived today :)
I'm happy because its friday, and I'm going home this weekend, and I'm high on caffeine which always makes me happier than I should be.
I am happy because I just thought of adding another pair of wool socks to keep my feet from freezing on the cold kitchen floor. It seems colder than it has been until now this year.
ihb i qualify for the end -of-year pool tournament next week. i rank 15. you get points all year for coming in 1st or 2nd, and i only came in first once, and in that game i beat the guy ranked number 1 now. my first match sunday will be against #2. .. continued in bummer item..
I successfully retrieved the favorite gloves which I left on the counter yesterday at Wazoo Records in East Lansing. Thanks to the storekeeper!
IHB I had a good night of steak and amusing movies.
IHB the boy and I worked through some issues, finally. The past twenty hours, in which we'd broken up, were sad, hectic, terrifying, and lonely. I've never been so sad in my life, but things seem okay now. Phew! A lot of the pain was due to the five-year friendship we were losing in addition to the relationship. I refuse to lose my best friend.
IHB I have some really good friends to put up with my ass when I've
had a few too many.
IHB the worst thing that happens to me when I get drunk is I start laughing at nothing.
IHB I realized that one of the consequences of taking summer classes is being able to go to the art fair this year! :)
my bullshit deflector was working pretty well last night.
The re-release of E.T. makes me very happy. If nothing else, it's a surreal but cheerful experience to look at a movie made during the early 80s and remember that, yeah, the world really did look like that once. Elliot's character was older than me, but not by all that much -- hell, I had those waffle-weave pajamas he spends half the movie in, and most of those toys, and that haircut, and...
i will be getting paid for having spent the last two solid days learning all sorts of cool things about how to develop a business project and get venture capitalists to sign on to it without giving the whole store away. it was a little surreal sitting in a room with a whole bunch people to whom a million dollars is small change... but, hey. that's life.
Michigan won tonight, in a very good game. With the win, they advance to the Frozen Four in 2 weeks. I'll be at the Frozen Four. :) (plus I think I spotted senna on tv (he was at the game, I was watching on TV))
Who played last night? I was told there was a team with a "wolf-dog" as its mascot, and State, who "just stood there looking at the puck until someone hith them.".
Really? Where was I? I, too, am rather happy about the events of the weekend. Two wins, two jaw-droppingly boisterous crowds, four great games (there were two others), and a trip to the Frozen Four. Man, that was something. A come-from-behind-in-the-third win tonight, no less. I have no voice, and neither does anyone else who was there. It should be noted that all three major state-of-Colorado hockey teams lost today. I'm really happy about that. Two of them lost to Detroit-area teams. The title of HockeyTown is safe.
(By "last night" I meant Friday evening.)
q quit
senna - you were in the stands. I saw a face that looked like yours, wearing a 3rd-color jersey, with the sleeves rolled up. (not that it matters to any other Grexers, but Ramsay was shown a few times, espicially during the postgame celebrations) Joe - Friday: MSU lost to Colorado College (the Tigers), and UM beat St Cloud State University (the Huskies). Saturday: Minnesota (Golden Gophers) beat CC, and Michigan beat Denver (the Pioneers)
IHB the Wings beat the hell out of the Avs on Saturday--literally. A good six-on-six skirmish followed Shanny's 500th goal; Chelly cross-checked someone 5.5 times in a row, and we killed a 19-second 6-on-3 advantage to put Hasek ahead of Waaugghh with 61 career shutouts.
On Friday, or Saturday? I wore the maize on Friday, but I was in blue Saturday night. I saw the tape of the third period today at Bill's house; Ramsay was cracking us up. For what it's worth, I was sitting with Brad and Jen behind the penalty box, so I don't think I got many on screen opportunities. The description matches, though.
Job lead that looks favorable, and I'd be writing! Please God...
Heh, forgot to change my name here. Pfft.
Thanks for the update, ea; I got one from senna in party, too. :)
IHB just about everything I can think of is looking up; I finally
managed to assemble a new file cabinet, two damaged parts and a missing part
later; I'm enjoying a nice new vin du pays that I picked up a few days ago;
a few jobs seem to be competing for my interest; I have good music playing
that I didn't have a few days ago. Nothing earth-shattering, just
overwhelmingly good.
this was during the Saturday game. I also saw someone resembling Brad. I think the best shot of Ramsay was immediately post-game when he practically picking up the guy next to him. IHB I bowled a 171 (career high) tonight in my league.
IHB Dave got me a copy of the Cure's "Show" album. It's wonderful, and it made me happy during my shift tonight. IHB our relationship is finally back to the wonderful, smarmy goodness it was before all the self-esteem nonsense started. Silly boy.
The Exam I'm Not Ready for wasn't ready for me either. It's been rescheduled for Wednesday. Oh, rapture.
YAY!
My brother is letting me help him get somebody to give him two million dollars. (For some consideration, of course.)
Can you get him to forward us ten or twenty thousand of that? LOL
Detroit Edison (after I had been calling every week for a month or so) said to go ahead and put in our trench for underground electric service and they will install an intermediate pole anywhere we like, as long as it is under the wire. We will be putting it in conduit so I called Wyandotte Electric to get prices. Grey PVC electrical conduit comes in 1/2" to 6" and 200A service goes in 2" (this took a while to determine). What size for communications cable? Maybe 1/2" but call Comcast to be sure. I talked to four people at Comcast, one of whom wanted me to call Livonia, another wanted my customer account number, and the third called back and told me the type of cable they use. I told her I needed the conduit size, not the cable size. In the process she was able to remove all three of our addresses from their mailing list - which MediaOne was unable to do for about five years. ;) The electrical info is something we have been trying to get since September. We were hoping to start digging the 2' deep 100' long trench this morning....
Well, if you come up with a good enough idea, do enough research to show that it is viable, and present that research to the right people, under the right conditions, you too could get someone to give you a couple million dollars. (For some consideration, of course.)
Wait, Eric, the one where he was hugging Zamboni boy, or shouting into the camera?
As I was talking to Detroit Edison, who said to go ahead and put the electric pole anywhere we wanted (Jim decided it would go well at the back of the compost pile) a worker was out there marking where we had to put the pole (at the back of the compost pile). They might not have wanted to try installing it in the other corner of the yard under the tree house. So now we can dig. If the ground ever thaws again.
