Working nearly 24/7 can have it's advantages, that is, you get piles of
cash that you dont know what to do with, so the result is that you get strange
ideas like improving the place where you live; in other words, Moving to a
bigger place.

     To fully understand this saga, the viewers will recall that I was
dwelling in a small roach infested room in East Toledo. While I was perfectly
content to stay there, the bugs got together and told me since I was working
15 hours a day, my money could buy something better. In other words, I was
kicked out....again,

     I found a nice place near the Toledo Zoo, and having secured accounts
from the major utilities, all that remained was to aquire the keys from yon
landlord. The keys arrived on March 27, and the green light was given to
transfer my collection of meager possessions from point a to point b, of
course, my boss told me that he could only give me 2 days off to accomplish
this feat. I was cocky and told him that was all that I needed. Yeah Right.

     The viewers will again recall that my things had 2 homes, some in Ann
Arbor, and some in Toledo. I thought that this would be a perfect time to
collect my things and keep my friendships alive by removing my things from
assorted garages and basements of the people who were so gracious to help me
me in the first place. Next stop the UHaul, or rather the USpend place.

     UHaul makes thier money off poor idiots like me who think that all thay
need is a little time, muscle and energy to move their crap. I rented the van
and proceeded for Ann Arbor. Of course, it started raining the minute I got
into the truck. The lady at USpend told me that I would be paying 29.95 for
the Behemoth model, plus a small milge fee of a mere .59 cents per mile. In
retrospect, it was a Really Dumb(tm) idea to travel to Ann Arbor and back.
I mean, for all the useless shit that was in Ann Arbor, I cold have saved the
money. Oh well. 

      (no, this is not a beady item....but keep reading) 

     Moving Day arrived. I returned to Toledo after spending the worst nite
I have ever spent in a motel. The Red Roof Inn, or more aptly named the Charge
all you have for a room inn, soaked me for nearly 70 bucks for over night
accomodations. I would have done better if I would have slept in the truck,
or at least get the hell away from Ann Arbor. But I stayed there because I
was approacheing nearly 20 hours awake, and I wasnt thinking too clearly  (not
that that ever happens). 

     I arrived back in Toledo, and I now needed a bed. I Went to Banner
mattress on Monroe street, and left with a nice bed for double what I really
wanted to spend. It is a nice bed, and I do sleep well on it, that is when
I actually get out of my cab long enough to indulge in actual sleep.

     The previous Friday, I called evil 1, my darling sister and I wasked her
if she would take pity on me and help me move. She foolishly agreed and also
brought her son to lend a hand. He still isnt speaking to me. To make a long
story short, and this never was, I', now in my new digs, and I have boxes all
over the place.I still have no time tounpack and make this place presentable.
But at least I dont have any bugs.

Wow, Jim, congrats!  Aside from working 15 hours per day, it sounds 
like you're doing all right.

Congrats on teh move - it's all about the Motel 6 - $40 a night and clean.

If you do not exaggerate the extent of your insect infestation, you have moved
their eggs with your belongings.  I recommend that you invite some nice
centipedes to devour them after they hatch.  Well, congratulations anyway on
living space upgrade.

Yeah, last time I needed a motel badly I tried a Red Roof Inn.  When they
quoted me the price I decided I didn't need one *that* badly and drove to
the next town.  I'd only been driving for ten hours, not 20, though. ;)

I have heard others say that they went into a Red Roof Inn, asked for 
the rate quoted on the digital sign, only to be told they don't have a 
room at that price.  When asked why they didn't change the sign the 
person just shrugged.   

If I were told that, I'd hit the roof, all right.

   Exactly what happened. The billboard on State St said 47 bucks,
incidentally, the Roof here in Toledo is going for 37 bucks a nite, although
there are places that are cheaper. 

   I really dont mind working the long hours because I am actually seeing the
results of my work. I work for a person who owns 1 cab, and being the only
driver, I am the sole income, and this is my motivation to get off my ass and
get to work in the morning. He just bought a new car, well, new for being a
cab only 95,000 and very clean, for a mere 3000 dollars. Being that he is
unsighted, I have to do all the running around, which I dont mind doing.

   Thanks for all the congrats. It is my hope to invite you all down here for
a get together, although parking will be just like home--in a wor: impossible.
Maybe I can take y'all to a Hens game. It's always fun to see the Hens lay
yet another egg.

Hey, Jim.  I have some records that belong to you.  Some that 
Freezeland Frieda gave us to give to one about four or five years ago.

Of course, I'm moving to a new house (still in Ann Arbor) on the 29th,
so I'll probably lose them again in a few days.

   Don't worry Jan, I still have nothing to play them on. One of these days,
I'll get them from you.
