"Blade Runner" maybe?

Actually, the roots of "Fifth Element"'s futuristic look go a
lot farther back than that. Take a look at illustrations from
science fiction magazines of the 1920's and 1930's, or the
silent film "Metropolis" from the 1920's.

I liked these allusions to past ways of visualizing the future.
If it had been stronger in other departments, I would have liked
it a lot better. As it is, overall I didn't care for it that
much.
Use "back" to return.
