I am happy because I have a 1/2 day of work today so I am going to go
to the lake in the afternoon and it is going to be sunny and hot.
PERFECT!

Oh, but I'm envious, slynne.
IHB I think my routine fatigue that plagues me in the mornings for a
week or so seems to be gone for the day. I think it's probably
adjusting to increased dosage of one of my ADs. IAHB my next therapy
session is today. I look forward to them.
Sindi, there was a MOUSE NEST in a computer? Ick . . . ick . . .

In two computers - LK thought he had isolated the cause of the smell in one
of them so did not bring it. The mouse was also using the nest as a privy.
So our computers have mice AND bugs now (a few moths may have lived in the
power supplies, nice small holes as entries).
I am happy that I figured out that the 'cottony peach sugarcane' aphid which
some Bulgarian pesticide label refers to is actually three aphids that got
condensed together, but I have no idea what a beet shield-insect or a green
night-insect is (it eats peas, tobacco and cabbage). I found a New Zealand
shield bug. This must have driven the original translator equally crazy and
then the typesetter messed it all up. Amazing the number of different bugs
that will attack one crop plant and the number of plants one bug eats.

I've verified the Way-Coolness of said mandolin teacher. Anyone who owns an
instrument I haven't heard of yet -- a bass dombura, in her case -- is cool
in my book.
Also, she lives on the far side of Argo park, and on the way back I saw a
heron taking off along the river, only getting in one or two very slow
wingbeats before it was out of sight.

I saw a heron at the intersection of Mast and Strawberry Lake Road a
few days back. A few years ago, I saw one standing in the middle of
Mast. When he took off along it, flying away from us, it looked like his
wingspan was as wide as the road. Impressive birds.

Family left me the house while they went on vacation for almost 2 weeks.. My
only complaint.. Just my poor puppy for company.. Don't get me wrong. I love
my puppy, but I enjoy heckling my siblings an parents.. Only reason I'm not
going is so I can snag up the job with UofM. Just waiting for the good word..
cross yer fingers for me folks. I'm pretty confident I got it since I was the
one with the most experiance. but they're running background checks.. Over
all. I'm in a good mood.. :) So go me! :)

IHB taking my antidepressant ealier in the evening has resulted in no
extreme exhaustion during the first half of the next day! So far I'm
still level, and I've been on this dosage for exactly two weeks.
IAHB I got to meet edina, hang out with other grexers at the bowling
alley, and converse with some pretty fly people until after midnight.
I've gotten out again and actually had a good time. Of course, those
guys can make you have a good time no matter how bad you're feeling at
the time.

IHB Dave and I are going to Chicago next Tuesday! I'm going to see my first
Cubs game. We're having lunch at Mongolian BBQ, shopping at Strange Cargo,
and grilling on his sister's patio after the game (she's two blocks from
Wrigley). It's kinda weird because it's the exact same thing we did in March,
only he's not going to propose this time. ;-)

I found a nice large Polish website that describes all the common plant pests
with Polish and Latin names and then all I had to do was search for the
English equivalent of the Latin. Alfalfa weevils also eat hops. Many of
these bugs are omnivores (tho not quite like the lady bugs that first eat the
pests of fruit crops, then eat the fruit crops, then eat the farmer).

IHB as it turns out Gordon classes have helped my sanity and overall happiness
level instead of hurt it. Busy is good if you are doing stuff you really
enjoy, and this stuff I enjoy and find meaning in, as opposed to my stupid
complex analysis and intro to programming classes, which I have found
insulting all term and have been disappointed in.
I've started thinking about getting involved in some sort of folk dance
again... been a long time since I've been willing to look stupid in an effort
to improve my musical understanding as well as rhythmic abilities. :)
And off to the web to look up things...
Also, I will be staying at my parents house (as in sleeping and then driving
to my 1 class during the day) for a week in July while they go camping, so
that the dog can continue to get fed and not soil the cage.

Re: #969
A *bad* complex analysis class??? How horrible! I'd suggest getting a
really good text or two to enjoy & learn the material in spite of the
[avert!] bad class. What level is it, and what are the problems?
(The bad intro programming course sounds more part for the course to me,
but again, you need to learn the material either through or in spite of
the course.)

Wow. I'm happy because Jan put in a shameless plug for the morris dancers,
so now I don't have to. Do send me e-mail if you're curious.
Also, dinner tonight turned out quite well. I've been discovering how
interesting miso is to cook with. We made green salad with miso and tahini
dressing, a cold noodle salad with cilantro, and a big vat of smoothie. (The
few lucky housemates who postponed their heat-induced naps to show up were
quite impressed -- go us!)
