Glad you're feeling okay today, bhelliom.
I am happy because for the past week the only barking is a few yaps by the
pitbull, which is no longer competing with the two other dogs (which I presume
have moved) to see which one can bark the longest and loudest in the middle
of the night. And I 'fixed' a computer that was given to us as dead, by
running scandisk so it would access the hard drive again.

Last night I got drafted into directing a CTN production because the regular
director was sick. I had never directed before, and I was nervous, but it
went very well.

Yeah!

Oh, and IHB- I found an organization here in Ann Arbor that I just may
end up volunteering a few hours a week for- just have to do a little
more research and meet the lady in charge.

resp:893 hahahaha!! No, this is a warehouse/delivery position for a
mattress company.

resp:898 Understood. Julie and I had an early breakfast at Shari's,
which is a Northwest business like Denny's. We've been regulars for
quite some time, so one of the waitresses was really happy to see us,
and baby Sarah, too. She and the other lady working that night just
fawned over our daughter =)

It was most enjoyable.

Thank you, Sindi . . . I'm headachy, took a nap instead of eating lunch,
and got a stomach ache from eating chocolate cake but I'm none the worse
for wear (I THINK that's how you say that). :) Still the tummy cramps
are worth good chocolate, which I haven't had the pleasure of partaking
in for quite a while.

Maybe I'll make a cake with butter this weekend. I don't do so very
often, so butter won't kill me. Of course, it's too bad Brummel and
Brown doesn't come in sticks as well as the tub. I've love that stuff.
Butter recipe fudge chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting? Butter
recipe yellow cake with fudge chocolate frosting? MMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMM
Good!

Wednesday evening was kicked off with the weekly therapy sesion.
Mooncat actually gave me an assignment, to speak to SC about how to deal
with no longer being able to do things I used to enjoy. When she asked
me about the things that I enjoy doing, I could only come up with one
thing that I will readily do on a regular basis, which would be
crosstich, believe it or not. Everything else I can take it or leave
it. I haven't read a book of decent length for at least a year. Most
of the books I have started I never would finish, and there were a
couple of series that have piqued my interest, but I only get around to
reading them every great once and a while. I think I've read 10
paperbacks of less than 300 pages in the last year and a half, which for
me is very small. I listed off a while plethora of things I once
enjoyed or didn't mind doing that I no longer wanted to do, until I
couldn't think of anymore.

I actually didn't know what to expect in her answer, but I was still
surprised when all she said was "Do what works." If that's keeping me
occupied and relaxed, that's a good thing. It also requires
concentration, one thing I often lack when I'm performing most other
tasks that require paying close attention. She also assigned me the
task of incorporating exercise back into my daily routine. I used to
work out about 2 hours a day, but I haven't been that active in about
three years, which is when I began to slow down and the Depression
really began to show itself. So I'm supposed to start small, at least
20 minutes daily or more if I wish, occasionally incorporating weight
training if I'm up to it. This ought to be interesting.

Don't overdo it in the early stages. Take it easy at first and see
where things lead to. If start to like excercising again, you can
always switch to more challenging workout schemes.

I can remember how hard it was to do just anything.
Cooking, eating, working, watching tv even. But mostly being sociable
with other people or have a social life at all. Had to make room for
that first before venturing that field again.
In the longer run I was ready to move to another house and travel to
the US to meet up with you. Good things can come from it.

Physical exercise is supposed to affect your mood by altering your chemicals.

I'm happy for obvious reasons, the Wings winning the cup and all. I've been
following them for a long time, and the rare opportunities we get to see a
team actually succeed need to be savored.

In other news, my absent internet connection has left me with curious amounts
of free time, though I am sadly out of touch. It's been a weird shock to my
rhythm. And the carnage in the World Cup has been fun to experience.

That game was indeed fun to watch. Along with Pizza and Cheesy bread,
and let's not forget crosstich, Thursday evening was enjoyable, despite
a snarly first couple of hours, migraine and very upset stomach,
probably due to IBS, which I think came back a few years ago, but since
I was symptom free for so long, I kinda forgot what the signs were.
But despite the discomfots, I enjoyed watching the Wings skate to
victory and Hacek almost had another shutout. Valiant effort for him.

IAHB I managed to speak with a friend of mine from undergrad, with whom
I've kept touch over the years, seeing her when I was in town. She's
at the philosphy PhD program at MSU, where she is on another leg in her
Bioethics career. I haven't been in touch as often since coming back,
and I've flaked on a couple of invitation that I'd accepted, though she
wasn't the only one to be on the receiving end of that one. I was
great to hear from her, and we caught each other up on the last year
plus.

I told her about my Depression and she mentioned that she's been
suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder and has had panic attacks.
So we mentioned things in the past that point to our respective
problems, including instances each noticed when rented a house my
senior year. We've got tentative plans to hang out on Sunday,
depending on how both of us are feeling. I am glad that she doesn't
take my lack of communication personally. Two old friends on
medication and therapy. :) And I get to see her boyfriend, Bert,
too. I knew him first, though. :)

I have a HUGE goofy grin on my face. :) I expect it to stay there for a
while :) The past ten months have been AWESOME, and have seen some
tremendous hockey :)
Looks like we'll be driving back to Michigan tomorrow--unsure what plans
for side trips to Cedar Point and the Hockey Hall of Fame are. Too busy
grinning. :)

I actually caught the game, although I watched very once in a
while 'midst Grexing (hey, watching sports is much more fun with pizza
and friends). Julie was enjoying it, too, and was watching more
intently.

Brummel and Brown *is* good. Maybe it doesn't hold up well in sticks?

IHB the US made it through to the second round of the world cup! this even
though they lost their game vs. Poland. South Korea upset Portugal. So
the U.S. makes the round of sixteen! Surely a big moment in the history
of U.S. soccer

IAHB I am on vacation and I am typing this post (and the last one) from
an airport cybercafe in Singapore. Cybercafes next to the gates...now
there is a good idea. And whats more you can use the cybercafe free
during overnight hours (11 pm to 6 a.m.) which is quite nice considering
my flight got in at 1:30 am local time in the morning and I cant check
into my hotel until later in the morning. So I can sit here and websurf
through the early morning hours for free. There is also a travelers
lounge adjacent to cybercafe, which has tv's rebroadcasting previous days
world cup action. Im in Singapore for a couple of days, then off to
Malaysia and other points of interest in this fascinating part of the
world...

IHB I got a copy of my birth annoucement in the mail from my Great Uncle Ed
and Aunt Annie. Wow! Even from birth I was a republican:

The Announcement says:
A Brand New Republican! (with little baby riding elaphant)
Inside:
Name: (mine)
joined the party on: (my birth date and time)
Carries a lot of weight: (weight)
Ward Chairmen: (my parents name)

It cost my parents $0.08 to mail it, and the stamp has Eisenhower on it.

I am totally giddy about this! wow! Tee-hee!
