That was fun one, srw and I battling it out in the wee hours of the
morning. But, how can "bulbs" be 0 8-?. Well, I got into a lot of trouble
with "aodai", so I have adopted the MacMillan "Very First Dictionary"
as my reference. I am sure this will not tax anyone's cerebellum ;-).
I am thinking of a five letter word.

Yeah, that was fun. It would have been more fun if buoys had occurred
to *me* though. I'm kicking myself for not spotting that. Well done.

Sorry about misreporting bulbs as 0. I knew Rane had won
and I must have thrown all caution to the wind. ;-)

(I applied some #866 and #869 to the ** in #868, or it would have
exceed five characters. Aren't I nice 8^?)

Foul! Your answers are inconsistent, rane.
trims, truck and prune cannot match 3,4,3.
The reason is that this gives a total of 10 matches, and there are
only 4 duplications, yielding a minimum of 6 letters in your word.
I believe trims=3 is the incorrect one. I suspect trims=2 instead.
This is because primp=1 trims=3 implies t...s=2 which is violated
by tents=1.

"truce", indeed: it wasn't a Foul, but a slice into the rough. I had
trims 2 katie
in my notes, but entered 3 accidently.
End of "truce"
truce 3 srw
(aa8ij guesses "that", but it has only four letters...;-)
