finical 7 (janc) ---> Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner!
Affectedly fine; overnice; unduly particular; fastidious.
``Finical taste.'' --Wordsworth.

Re 856: who cares? There are more words in the English language
than the ones you think we should use. This is a game and it's
fun to see new words even if you don't think you'll use them in
everyday writing or conversation.

Well, speaking as the illiterate savage that I am, I think it's a waste
of a word. "Finical" should mean something halfway between "finicky"
and "financial", as in, "Mildred spent the week presenting the finicals
of my inheritance from Uncle Albert, which, when all was said and done,
amounted to 38 cents."

Or maybe "'A penny saved is a penny earned' is a danged finical saying."

I guess there are a lot of wasted words, then. I enjoy many of them,
and sometimes use them, so that they aren't wasted. If you want simple
words, you should stick with the 5-letter game, which was started
because some people playing the 6- and 7-letter games did not like
wasted words.
