that "noises" should have been a "2".  But it's academic now, because

Wonder how many other six letter words can be made by picking one
letter from each of those state names?  Guess that's another item...
 
Too many twos in that round...lots of neat combinations to look at,
many which seemed plausible.  Possum was the simplest word I could
think of that fit a different combination in each of the three
'P' guesses that were 2's.
