As we've reached our 5 guess limit, I'll just say that in my Webster's
Collegiate, "trepan" is also "trickster" "a deceptive device" "snare"
"entrap" and "lure" all of which are very appropriate to describe Rane's
choice of word ;)

Very nice. Now, get to the point.

Well, kentn has it on only the 5th guess overall, with "squeak".
Way to go, Kent - you're up.

re 827: Are ye daft, mon? One of the side benefits of this game
is to lure you into learning new words, and certainly from the "winner's"
view, one object is to trick others by either selecting a very
unusual (but legitimate) word or a word that is very similar to many
other words, making the guessing difficult. This game is a very deceptive
device, indeed.

re 828: hmmm...my system works better than I thought. A SWAG is good
for something once in a while ;)

Okay, got the ol' thinking cap on...processing...ding! I'm thinking
of a six letter word...

Five guesses is a pretty short game. I recall a game that last one (1)
guess. For a while we kept track of all the words used, and how many
guesses each took, but that has fallen by the wayside.

Once again, a summary of guesses is in /u/kentn/letter.match.

Well, turnabout is fair play, I guess... Ok, I'm thinking of
a 6 (six) letter word.

(At the time I entered :837, the /home partition was so full that was
about all I could get picospan to accept! And yes, turnabout *is*
fair play :) curby, games vary in length. I'm sure you'll get your
chance.)

I shall try to use it often.
