My project of scanning in old family slides is nearing completion, and I now
have an image tool which makes batch conversions (shrinking huge .bmp files
down to nice friendly .jpgs in a lower resolution) quite easy.

Wonderful evening last night with four of my best friends from undergrad.
Good alcohol, truffles, Trivial Pursuit GEnus IV (which I actually came
close to winning)...*and* the Lumberjack episode of Flying Circus in German.

Re #780, 781:
Proper icing can't easily be too thick. However, in later years I've
encountered "icing" on cakes that somehow left something to be desired. It
tastes rather - flat.

Okay, get out your cook books and start realizing that there are MANY types
of icing. ROYAL ICING is a rather thing consistancy which is typically put
on COOKIES. Icings and frostings vary a lot depending on the recipe.

IHB I got to speak to large amount of my family tonight, amazing since I
thought I was only going to be talking with my mother (complaining about the
snow).

After a moderately grueling 7 hour dive into Linux administration, I not only
managed to get Linux talking to my cable modem, but talked it into connecting
the rest of my network, too! I've gone from one computer running Win98
talking to the internet to a nice little local network of various operating
systems, all nicely Connected. :)

Nothing like making an icing sandwich out of chocolate icing
between two chocolate chip cookies.

I baked and frosted (not iced, frosted - as there seems to be such a debate
- to which jiffer is correct, I might add) about 100 cookies - will do some
omore this week - started fulltime here at the firm yesterday - am 95% done
shopping and wrapping Christmas gifts - will take on Christmas cards today
- can't wait to come home for Christmas.

I got a ticket for the Barenaked Ladies concert in February.
<bouncebouncebounce> And finals are almost done! And I don't have to go
anywhere today. And I got to sleep in.

hefty inroads on the big ole pile o'work; forecast is promising for being
able to leave tomorrow with a clear conscience :)

IHB- instead of being a few hours later for work, I just didn't go in.
So it's been a lovely day. And I actually managed to get my car
unstuck, thought I don't want to drive in this crap...

#793, #787 (i think) and many other icing things - geez u people are all
making me hungrey :) last year I made some cookies for my friends- ifirst made
an experimental batch which were yummy and my family ate. The second lot were
like rock and i didn't think anyone would eat them (NASA might accept them
as a heat shield?) but Neil ate about 10 - and they're big cookies :) - i'll
try again this year, but it should be considered a public health risk...

IHB I was able to talk to a few long-distance friends while online last night,
and I bought lots of nummy winter-type food. There's nothing like waking up
and eating maple/brown sugar oatmeal, peanut butter toast with bananas, and
cocoa.  =)

Today has turned out alright. I managed to get out just a bit, and I just
had a nice dinner. The weird part? All this action, and it's not even 7:30
yet. Wow.

Michigan beat the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18
team 4-2 tonight. (the same NTDP team that beat MSU 6-4.) However, this
game doesn't really mean much, except for bragging rights (Haha, you got
beat by a bunch of high school kids and we didn't) :)

mooncat, but is the leprechaun going to believe you couldntmakeit
in because of the snow, or is he going to charge you a vacation day?
I mean he might feel that if *he* could make itin, nobody else should
have any excuse. Thats how a typical bossmightreact.

Richard- he's far from typical. Actually it's counting as a sick day I
believe. I wasn't the only one from the office that couldn't make it
in either.

ICE STORM!! Yaaaa!! Interstate closed to get in/out of Memphis (on
Arkansas side, since it's over the Mississippi River). Schools all
closed, airport almost shut down, all hell breaking loose. And I get an
extra day to work on the paper! YES!!!

::kisses the ice gods and keeps her tongue from getting stuck::
