Yeah, I saw all that stuff about the world cup on TV this morning... while
I was "studying" for complex analysis... luckily my test was easy. ;)

in the net...

The gears shift perfectly on one of my three bikes! It is the little things
that make life worthwhile ;)

Wore myself out on a real mountain-biking trail today, including
hills and mud. I emptied my bike bottle, almost the entire 2-liter
of water in the carrier pack, and 24 ounces of pop after I got home
and was only up 0.4 pounds. I guess I sweated a little bit.

The Wings beat Colorado, 7-0. It is the largest margin of defeat in a
Game 7, ever. St. Sieve^H^H^H^H^H Patrick gave up 6 goals in 1 1/2
periods.

I went insane during that game. :) My poor cats had no clue what was going
on. WE SPANKED 'EM!!! Yay!!!

Bye bye, Carolina. Stanley's ours.

I could really get into hockey, but I just live in the wrong area.

Family is coming for Sarah's blessing (christening). Since it's in
our neck of the woods, things should be tolerable.

I got some great exercise today playing soccer and football with other
alumni from my high school. Saw former grexer cicero, who is one of
them. He has a new baby girl.

I am happy I got to go shooting today and centered the .303 pretty well. We
had fun peppering photos of Osama Bin Laden as well. I also cooked a good
batch of beef barley soup for dinner. Very tasty.

IHB I had a great time at the SCA event today and got to catch up with old
friends. I also got a huge load of gossip I'd been missing. I've only been
gone for six months, but Lazlo spent 2.5 hours describing the latest breakups,
couplings, politics, and general stuff.

The food was fabulous, and the bonfire was great. We had a wonderful bagpipe
player who had us entranced for an hour...and then he played the theme from
"Star Wars". The geeks loved it, but I was a tiny bit disgusted. He ruined
my mood. ;-)

Jim fixed his pentium by removing and then replacing the CMOS. He then fixed
the same brand of 486 by the same technique. And he fixed jep's pentium board
by cleaning off the dust around the pins. And we had a nice visit with jep
and his bike gadget and his bike gadget rider.

Did the long canoe trip on the Huron (Hudson Mills back to Delhi, I think)
with the usual suspects.

I had a blissfully wonderful weekend with Suzzie and Maggie Roche. They
played Green Wood Coffee House Friday night, and on Saturday, instead of
having our regular church service at Green Wood, we had Suzzie and
Maggie perform their entire new album, "Zero Church."

Got out on my bike today and *hauled ass*. My average speed over
my usual out-and-back route was over 15 MPH (which I maintained for
better than an hour), which is definitely my best for this year and
as far as my imperfect memory can recall may be my best ever.

If I can keep this up I'll get rid of a lot of excess weight this year.

Happy because the Wings are going to be playing for The Cup. Also happy
because in 3 days, I've gone from having no jobs to possibly 2 jobs.
And furthermore, I diagnosed (and fixed) the problem that was causing my
bike computer to not register any activity.

(Oh, you're working on that? Way cool. I took a class from Jeffrey Steiger
back in the day, and I've been looking forward to that show something fierce.)
