Well, tempers are fine, except when people are rude/mean for no reason.

Selena comes in, yells at us for things we'd already discussed, settled, and
apologized for. Then brighn kicks somebody. Sounds very refreshing to me.

Let's be honest here, train wreck personalities can make for awesome
entertainment. Lurking and waiting knowing it's only a matter of time
before certain folks blow up, on cue, is a little like slowing down and
gawking at a traffic accident. Sad, but true.

Frankly, I'd be pissed too.

I kicked Carson because he was out of line, Scott.
You were completely justified in being upset.
Then again, so was she.
And MAry, you're right... and gawkers tick me off.
but there's an awful lot of gawking going on in this item.
(In short, move along, flolks, there's nothing to see here...)
(flolks? what the Hell does flolks mean? =} )

Flolks are egg yolks that have been dropped on your kitchen floor. Also
the sound of such action. Now, talk about a reason to get mad!

Who said Valerie has a quicksilver temper?
brighn
response 82 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 1 16:58 UTC 1996

Which Valerie? *My* Valerie is as bad as Selena, as far as tempers
go. I'd say it was a trend, but Jenna is fairly even-tempered. *shrug*
*notes that he seems to bring his personal life into serious discussions
a lot, has no idea why, but that's life*
(carson, you *know* i overreact, that's why you love-hate me =} )

(Valerie "blondval" vs. Valerie "popcorn")
brighn
response 84 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 1 23:23 UTC 1996

(not to be confused with Valerie "val", another beast entirely)
(then again, only 3 vals, as opposed to 1321.34 steves...)

response 85 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 2 02:10 UTC 1996

A "Val" was a Japanese bomber. No Valerie I have known likes to be
called by that name.
brighn
response 86 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 2 02:35 UTC 1996

Hrm. At least 2/3 of the Grex Valeries arre called "Val".

response 87 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 3 06:50 UTC 1996

I think each Valerie should capitalize a different combination of letters in
their name, so we can tell them apart. We steves have already begun this.

they're color-coded instead, sTeve...
my wife isblondval, we call val szopko "redval", and popcorn is
"blackval" or "brunetval"... although i don't know if she's aware
of this, since we've never had occasion to distinguish her from the
other two... 8^)

Is there a "PaleVal?"

<janc sits back and waits for popcorn to tell brighn what he can do with
 "blackval">

<robh thinks "blackval" is the coolest sounding of all those names>
brighn
response 91 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 3 16:32 UTC 1996

*brighn has actually never seriously used blackval because
he's fairly certain what Ms. Mates would think of it and only
mentions it because it completes the pattern, and it's been used
jokingly when discussing the color-coding with this "My GODS
what would Popcorn think?" tone...*

Actually, Blackval of Grex does have a certain _ring_! Beware,
Blackval of Grex, approaches! See what I mean?
brighn
response 93 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 3 18:17 UTC 1996

*deep sea diver sounds* Bring me the corpse of Blackval! I shall
destroy her and her minions as well! *more deep sea diver sounds*

Gee, Arnold, you're right. =} *giggle*

response 95 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 3 21:01 UTC 1996

Darkval? Ebonval? Jetval? Sableval? Onyxval?

I think it's hopeless. The language discrimates against brunets. My
thesauris lists the following synonyms for brunet:

dark, bistered, black-a-vised, dark-skinned, dusky, swart, swarth, swarthy

compared to synonyms for blond:

flaxen, golden, straw, platinum, champagne, towheaded, fair, light

Dusky is sorta interesting. What is swart?
<adbarr retires promptly to the Grexbunker to await the inevitable barrage
from the encampment of Blackval of Grex.>

response 97 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 4 02:39 UTC 1996

Dusky Val!
I had a dream once where I died. A friend of mine in the dream
told me I was passing between the veils. (He has something of a twang in
his voice.) Late in the week, I happened to be standing in what
was then one of my favorite places: being hugged by both
redval and blondeval (in other words, i was bivalent...
i had achieved covalence). And yes, I had passed between the Vals.
I don't just pun when I'm awake, unfotunately.

Brunette is brown, and there are many shades of brown: vandyke, burnt
sienna, umber (raw or burnt), sepia, bistre, chocolate, cocoanut,
cennamon, dark deal, dark stone, fawn, hazel, mulberry, snuff.....
brighn
response 99 of 115: Mark Unseen   May 4 14:55 UTC 1996

I've been told by too many people to count anymore that people
with black hair count as brunettes.
Considering red hair ranges from light orange to dark burgundy,
and blond hair ranges from Scandanavian white to dark tan,
I guess brunette can cover the rest of the natural shades (except gray).
