"Acceptable Use Policy", I think?

Selena, you're proving my point. :)

I haven't "forgotten" your supposed net-access (I haven't verified, as
it's not worth _my_ time, but I'll take your word for it for the sake
of argument). That is why I suggested you stop your tantrums and think
about how much you need access from *Grex* seeing as you've been able
to get it elsewhere without any problems.

I've been a verified member because I have "gotten real." Perhaps
you should grow up and do the same.

This item is about "buying all the Grex votes". Now, my vote is for
sale, if you can come up with the right price. Any bids?

I find a lot to agree with in the post by TS in #71. With all
respect, Selena's position does not impress me as "whining"
or an exhibit of "tantrums". Frustrating? Yes. Persistent? Yes.
Trying? Yes. Those attributes should not prevent honest evaluation.
This is real easy to say, and real hard to do: Can we not be
creative in accomodating the interests of Selena and the interests
of verifcation? Her position is easy to dismiss. Is that the
right thing to do? -- Rane - make me an offer. <drifting along>

Thank you, adbarr. I wasn't even going to address the colorful
phrasing of "whining" and "tantrums", as I felt that most people here
would be intelligent enough to tell a genuine complaint apart from that.
I do have access. This means that getting access here isn't
about whether or not I can GET to the net. It's a matter of how arbitrary
the verification requirement is, and how wrong I feel it is.
If I was looking for access, just for access sake, that would
be one thing. I'm not. I don't care about that. I'm saying that the
verification policy is not a good one for all situations, especially
in cases like mine. I'm not the only one against it. Should we all
"grow up"? If it means becoming cold, jaded and callous, no thank you,
O aged one.

When we have board members offering to sell their votes, we have a real
problem. ;)

I am trying desperately to keep the Item on the topic, and if offering
my vote for sale is the only way, I am ready to make the sacrifice.
However, no acceptable bid has been made yet.

there are other takers?

Rane, you've been contributing to that Language item - *you* know how
ambiguous "take" is.

he has more than one] I, however, am seriously interested in those
brownies! Please expand . . .

re: 95 - Just has one of those brownies, and now I wonder
if we should buy all the *Arbornet* votes, instead? {Official
Notice: The foregoing "entry" is not official, or unofficial
policy of any group living or dead or weak from brownies,
nor is said entry evidence of any conspiracy by any group
of individuals - rather the foregoing entry is trivia. Relax.}

response 99 of 107: Mark Unseen   May 26 06:31 UTC 1995

Won't work. Whoever you vote onto the Arbornet board will immediately turn
into yet another Arbornet board member. You'd have spent your money and be
right back where you started from.
