It is beknownst to me now, as I read the relevant item on M-Net.
I'm not exactly the best person to receive it -- I already know
my way around M-Net and the Internet. Maybe I'll pass 'em on to
some deserving newer user, after highlighting the part about
hitting return at the end of every line.

However, in order to do this I have to receive the manuals.
Craig was going to mail them to me. It's been over three weeks...

oops... I've got one of each, maybe we can make some arrangements.
Craig is coming over on Wednesday to work on the new one. I'll talk
to him and see what we can do to get them delivered. I had them (as
far as I know, the only remaining copies) and was in the hospital the
night of the meeting. Call me, or better yet.. if M-Net is up, leave me
mail. My number is 728-1450.

um, just an idea, i'm new here but i think this is a great idea:
change the "Grex is the breakfast food of champions"
to "Grex is the late night snack of champions"
i have reasons
1: nobody is on in the morning (for the most part)
2: everyone is on in the evening
if u agree, e-me :)

Just to clue in anyone(like chad) who thinks that becoming a member of staff
is some sort of honor that gets bestowed on people if they are good enough,
like being picked for the high school football team.
There is no reward, glory, power, or endless lines of chearleaders throwing
themselves at your feet. (at least, I don't think so. Did anyone else get
any cheerleaders? :-) ) It is alot of *work*, with little reward. In fact,
anyone who really really really wants to be on staff, is likely to be ignored
because his motives will be suspect. It is not a trophy, or a goal to be
attained.

Ditto to what Greg said. Being on staff is a lot of scutwork. For me
it involves lots of explaining to people that their files were eaten by
the computer; rebooting Grex at odd hours of the day or night; and
deleting people's mail when it starts to take over the entire disk --
and getting yelled at by the occasional person who insists it's his
*right* to fill up everybody's disk with his *personal* mail and you're
a nasty person for moving it.
I do get cheerleaders, though. But it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Why is there such a large gap 'tweenst the posties, after the beginning
of July?? Vacations, eh?
Also... and please don't crucify me as an infidel, heathen, blasphemer,
etc., BUT..... are there any plans in the works to take Grex into the
21st Century using at least ISDN or a 56Kbps line, in addition to a
tad more updated interface? Remember, this isn't necessarily
a criticism of the current arrangements, but just me wondering out
loud. :)
I like the 'adult' take on the conferencing aspects with Grex, versus
the likes of the Detroit Freenet, etc., but a little more speed and
ease of use would really allow this site to expand even further!
Btw... I've placed a link to Grex from my Internet Cooperative's
home page. The actual page where Grex is listed is:
http://www.mica.net/coopdocs/othcoops.html
Just thought you all here might enjoy a little more exposure!
Take care,
Todd B.
