Hmm... almighty isn't a member of the pseudo conference yet, but if he's
God he probably doesn't need to be a member to participate.

Glenda is currently the FW for the Rialto Conference, but she hasn't had
time to run the conference or attend SCA meetings. I asked her if she
was interested in continuing to FW the conference. She said:

I don't have time to login much anymore and haven't been to
a Cynnabar meeting or an event in about 2 years, if someone
else is more active there and here and feels that they can
breath some life into the conference they are welcome to it.

I am currently the Chronicler for Cynnabar, and would like to try to breath
some life into the conference as the FW. Would someone on staff be able
to make the switch?

Ok, I've added you to the fair witness list for Rialto.
Have at it!

Sure - that's cool- congratulations on being the Chronicler, too.

Perhaps Glenda and I will actually get back into it. I'd like that.

Steve,

The group has lots of loaner garb if you need it!

Actually, I'm wearing a peice of garb as I enter this response--it
makes for a wonderful wrapping in the cold basement. Clothes, we got.
Glenda loves making stuff. What we could use is loaner time, but I
don't think the group has any to spare, unforunately... ;-)

I'm looking for someone to be the fair witness of the archive conference.
That's the conference where really cool items from any other conference
are linked, to save them for posterity. It only has maybe 4 items right
now. The ideal person for this job follows a lot of conferences, isn't
a fair witness of any other conference (or at least not many), and plans
to be on Grex for a long time to come. Send me e-mail if you'd like to
volunteer.

Hey all you potential fair witnesses -- don't be scared off by John's
declaration in #87. Come back out of the woodwork, pretty please?

I would like to be a FW, and I suggest a conf for poetry. I'll run
it.

I'd be willing to FW the archive conference. I admit to FWing
the inbetween conference and (sort of) FWing the melvin conference,
but I'm sure adjustments could be made... and I browse through
MANY of the conferences.

I've added remmers and carson (and I'm still listed there) as archive
conference fair witnesses. Does this sound like it'll work?

My earlier response was in jest. I'd prefer not to do it.

that's OK by me; I was serious, tho'.

Wel, if remmers doesn't want to do it, I guess I will volunteer, I am already
a fw for one conference- but I do read many conferences...

Sounds like keeping watch over a cemetary being a fw at archive but I'm
interested. Maybe I better get over there and check it out. What will
I have to do? Think I can handle it? Be honest now :-)

The fair witnesses to the Archive conference are supposed to follow other
conferences, watching for classic items that are worth preserving. When
you see one, for example if you wanted to save coop item 7 (that's this
item, which is a really bad candidate for the archive conference) you
would join the archive conference and say "linkfrom coop 7". Then it's
good practice to enter a response in the item saying something like
"This is now linked from coop item 7 to archive item 14" (or whatever
number the item is, in the archive conference).

Excuse me for coming in late (and lot going back and reading all the
preamble to an archive cf), but isn't this what all the fws have been
doing when they link items from agora to their cfs? Should there be
two categories of such links - those the fw just wants temporarily,
and those the fw wants to archive in their cf? Just trying to clear
up when is an archive not an archive (or a not archive an archive).

All the cfs are archives. Why, then, is an archive archive needed?
