IHB my taxes are amazingly easy this year, or so they seem at first blush.
And I've managed to collect interest on just about every cent that I can
without triggering penalties! Woohoo!

IHB I got an interview Monday with AutoZone's corporate headquarters.
Would be doing writing for stores. I had heard about the job from a
friend so I mailed my resume. Then, another friend dragged me to a
science fiction convention, where the manager of that very position had
asked him if he knew of anyone who writes!

Got in touch with the friendly HR overlord today and he asked me a few
questions. He asked me about salary expectations and it turned out mine
were exactly in line with what they were planning to offer. He also
said the manager was very interested in me once she saw my resume. :)

So, Monday will be a 3-hour deal, with talking to the HR guy, then
talking to the manager I'd be working with (who seemed really nice and
cool). And will likely do some writing on the spot so they can see what
I can do. Eeek!

I'm excited but of course nervous. Have never had such a big time
interview before. This could end my 10-month purgatory of teaching
surly 18-year-olds forever. Biweekly paychecks and insurance... mine!
All mine! I'm plotzing.

IHB I'm just having the time to listen to some of the CDs I bought
the week before last, and I got some really good stuff.

IHB it is Pow Wow time. I love the sound and feel of the big drums and the
sights of the whirling dancers and the way the light glints and sparkles off
the beeds of their regalia.

After we decided that our computer with boot problems (which got worse
overnight) did not have a bad cpu, jumper settings, video or controller cards,
we parted it out (good battery and jumpers and video and controller cards)
and put the hard drive in another computer, where it had similar problems.
We were able to use DR-DOS to copy the files to another hard drive. MS-DOS
would not even access the bad drive. YAY DR-DOS!!!!!! I am happy because
we now have one less computer (4M RAM max) underfoot and one more (4M RAM)
headed out the door tomorrow and I have been promised a 200MHz Pentium by a
generous grexer who thinks I ought to have one with Win98 on it and a sound
card so I can play with Realaudio.

Oops, wrong item. The problem seems to have followed the software somehow!

IHB I got my federal tax refund check, the brakes on my car have been checked,
I have a new desk, new eye glasses are on the way, and easter will be a quiet
affair, though without brother and soon-to-be-sister-in-law.

Way to go, Trisha!

IHB I keep finding good CDs at bargain prices. Just today I
got some George Carlin, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Genesis,
Arlo Guthrie and Warren Zevon. I found some more stuff on
sale cheap that I'm making up my mind about and may buy later.

brother's girlfriend's cool dog Taylor. All is well with the family.
This is good.

IHB my new CDs are every bit as good as I hoped they'd be.

(And don't have anything in your mouth when you read the back of
a George Carlin CD. The sentence "PLEASE! Try not to commit
suicide after listening to this album" is belly-laugh-inducing.)

IHB Dave and I spent some quality time together before he left for Saginaw.
My mom was quite forgiving about my not making Easter (she actually suggested
I stay in Kalamazoo until the funeral), and I told her we'd be up for Mother's
Day. All in all, it was a crazy evening, but Dave was able to get some
emotions out before he had to go face the family (where he doesn't show
emotion).

Bleh. :)

I'm happy because we bought a new pickup truck yesterday. I traded in my 1999
Ford Ranger (lease) in order to purchase a 2002 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew. It
is highland green with a tan interior, 4.6L "Triton" V8 engine, automatic
transmission, power everything, CD changer, etc.. and a 6600 pound towing
capacity. Adrienne says I can buy a boat when it's paid off in 5 years.

HEre is a picture.

IHB my interview is over with, and I think I did well. I'm sure to be
in the running, anyway. Won't hear for up to two weeks because they
aren't done interviewing. Ugh, I think waiting is worse.
