I've been known to shake up my pop several times and let out the air slowly
in order to get rid of the carbonation. A sure way to get funny looks in
class.
ROTFL at 69!!!
How about bananas? How do they _really_ affect the intestines? I've heard
them rumored to cause both constipation and diarhea on separate occasions.

I used to sit around all day drinking can after can of pop, and noticed at
some point that by the end of the day it was starting to make me feel somewhat
sick (I think it was mostly the sugar). I switched from drinking pop to
drinking water sometime last fall, and both started feeling a lot better and
lost 30 or 40 pounds very quickly. After several months of almost completely
avoiding it, pop (even root beer, my old favorite) just doesn't seem remotely
appealing to me anymore.
I forget what all this has to do with the Grex Walks.

don't drink soda before the walk or you'll have a migraine and leave a trail
of diarrhea.

I am a reliable, appealing source of caffeine away from giving up carbonated
drinks entirely.

Try chocolate. :)
I've given up caffeine a million times.

Tea is non-carbonated. One use for Coca Cola is to destroy stereo equipment.
A lot of what we opened up had sticky brown stuff inside it. I don't know
if the acid makes the liquid more damaging.

Someone who went on the walk will have to report on the walking
attendance. I got to bed very late Friday night and scratched
the walk from my plans, but I did make a point to make it to Argiero's
if only because it's right across the street from the Farmers' Market.
There was a big turnout for the debriefing; here's the seating chart
for the two tables:
aruba janc arabella remmers scott
Carol arlo krj Sarah/sgsk polygon
valerie
kendra chanur
kaplan
Ross
Today was kendra's first appearance at a Grex event, and so we
had a total of four Grexkids. Plus three babies at the next table
over...

Walkers were danr, Carol, aruba, kaplan, mutsie, Barney, and janc. It was
cloudy but not as muddy as expected.

No rain here. Just a little drizzle that ended before we set off.

It was a beautiful day in East Lansing, perfect springy temperature, lots of
sun :)
Still is beautiful out, actually. Just not as sunny.

These days we get to lunch around 12:15-12:30, though sometimes a bit later
if we have small children on the walk.

This week, the dogs and I walked but Chris and Ross didn't. By the
time I drove home to Ypsi, dropped off the dogs, collected the humans,
and drove back to Argiero's, it was about 1:00. We got there after
everyone else had ordered, but we were not too late.

I see I probably missed the most beautiful walk of the year.
Sigh. Just could not sleep last night.

kaplan, Raisa and the dogs started the walk on time, and I started late and
walked backwards. We met at the overlook. It was a lovely walk indeed;
despite being cloudy and damp early this morning, by walk time it was sunny.
Jeff reported that tree 57 was in full bloom.

You could tell it was spring, I suppose, because the trees have
mostly finished blooming -- except for a couple of spectacular
late bloomers -- and are now busy leafing out. But it was cool and
overcast, not too appealing. Walkers were danr, kaplan, Mutsie, Barney,
aruba, Carol and krj.
For the debriefing, Seva was pretty busy, since it was Graduation
Weekend for the University of Weekend. We got a table for 8 and
overstuffed it; it wasn't quite as bad as the list of names will
seem because two were infants in carriers. Dining or just
hanging out making faces were: janc, valerie, arlo, kendra;
kaplan, chanur, Ross and their friend Carol A.; aruba, Carol, krj.
I thought the food was pretty yummy, though I neglected to order
a dish with roasted potatoes and had to watch someone else's plate
covetously.
After lunch I wandered over to Encore, where it seemed that someone
had sold off a lot of British Isles folk CDs. There went the budget...
