some folks are fools for a day,
for some it's a way of life

a religion

a state of mind

Yeah, dump them here and we'd have all of those twitching carcasses to
clean up.

This place kicks ass. I'd love it if this happened on the WELL.

We could all be humdog for a day.

Do you need root access to do it?
juls
response 83 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 2 01:14 UTC 1995

Speaking of root. . .

I hope everyone had fun 'being' me for the day. I certainly got
enough mail over it. Not even many flames, either.
Someone said they wanted to see more "authentic" Grex people here.
I'm not sure what an authentic Grexer is exactly, but this conference
has earned the #3 spot in my .cflist, right after staff and coop.
I'd like to learn more about the rat, though.

We may be no. three in your .cflist, but
we are number one in your hearts!

STEVE!

It was a great April fool's trick. Think of it this way. You're
famous now.

response 89 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 17 21:35 UTC 1995

Famous *now*?

When was he not famous?
sdober
response 90 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 17 23:15 UTC 1995

He's even famous on the WELL. At least among followers of the musical canine.

steve
response 91 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 18 03:18 UTC 1995

Oh thanks. Now I'm being compared to a dog?

   I get no respect.

But at least I'm not being judged against flatworms.
thanne
response 92 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 18 16:35 UTC 1995

Not A dog. THE dog. Humdog.

Indeed!

If you enjoyed that April Fools hack, you should get the story straight
when you spread it. STeve did pay a price, but he was as surprised as the
rest of us. The perpetrator should get the credit and Wellian fame.

Ahem, I have heard rumors of who the real perp was, and if so, she should
bow her head, having set through my wrathful spell without once defending
steve.
thanne
response 96 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 26 03:09 UTC 1995

I thought it was Popcorn, which made me like her even more. A
most excellent trick.
brighn
response 97 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 26 05:02 UTC 1995

I hated the prank, personally. And the fact that I called Steve a
whole plethora of names to Popcorn and she never said WORD ONE that
implied that maybe, just MAYBE he didn't have anything to do with it...
I've never known Popcorn to be cowardly. *shrug* I shall write it off
as a bad day on her part.

response 98 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 26 16:47 UTC 1995

What's April Fool's for if not for a convincing prank?

brighn
response 99 of 117: Mark Unseen   Apr 26 22:38 UTC 1995

Which is why I don't like April Fool's Day.
I've had this conversation elsewhere, I don't care to repeat it.
