I think Grex should be required to translate all posts from english into
French and vice versa. (Canada)
I think Grex should be required to do the same for Spanish (Mexico and parts
of CA, FL, TX, etc.), and many other langauges (around the world).
I think Grex memberships should be a sliding scale based on how much owrk you
do for the system, and how much money you make a year.
I think al lusers of Grex shuld be required to do a minimum of 10 hours a week
of work for Grex.
I think dog stew should be served at Grex meetings.
I think that we should raid MNet once a month, and kill and eat any MNet users
we happen to capture.
I think that nobody should be allowed to serve for Grex if they or their
spouse (male AND female) is uncircumcised.
Hey, guys, what do you say? This is the Global Village! Let's give all of
these suggestions serious thought because they are, each and every one of
them, an active cultural norm somewhere on this here planet of ours.
This post is in English. Cultural tolerance goes a certain distance, yes it
does, but the only people who can say they approach the tolerance that they
Global Village would really entail would be the ones who got all the way
through the above list without once thinking "What an asshole, Brighn's gone
nuts or is just plain being a jerk."

(As someone who read the first part of this item from the initial
"read" command" and then the last 20-odd responses from "read since
-5", all I have to say is... delightfully twisted.)

Actually, I was just saying what brighn pointed out-
if all the main techs are american, it would be silly to go TOO far
out of the way to accomodate other cultures, like the translations to
Gods know how many languages.. that's all.
I don't want to see a board that can't communicate without an interpretor.

Goodness gracious !
Is Grex planning for major changes in language policy ? Kindly include
the 18 officially recognized Indian languages, and hundreds of other languages
spoken in India.
I am reminded of a joke regarding two Indian languages, Tamil and
Malayalam. It is believed Malayalam branched from Tamil. The joke is :
'Un samasaaram sariyillai' in Malayalam means 'Your talk is improper'.
The same thing in Tamil means 'Your wife is improper'. Quite a riot !
So much for the language differences. Note that the two states where
these languages are spoken are neighbouring states.
<vedagiri wonders why there SHOULDN'T be cultural misunderstands>

..... and ..... vedagiri's story equates 'talk' & 'wife,' not an
uncommon similarity - even in india? <G!>
