Yes, kami. a "dybbuk" is a demon from Jewish Folklore. I didn't give the
definition because I had used the word earlier in this item. "Dybbuk"
is borrowed from Yiddish, and I see that the language conf has no
Yiddish item, so I think I'll go add one. Look there for more on "dybbuk".

I found this word in my crossword puzzle dictionary, and I can't think
of any words that fit at this point, but this one does.
So what the hey, I'll go for it:
"ixodid" ( a kind of tick )

Ding Ding Ka-Bonggggg! srw has it. Now *he* can explain how he
got from a few *1's*! (Doesn't bother me since I know it's very
feasible, but carson and others could learn something...)
Your word, srw. I'll guess "ixodid"...

Kabong?
Well, I used plain old logic to deduce that the word had one of these three
patterns: ..od.. ...df. ...d.s
If anyone cannot see how my logic concluded that, I'll go into details
either here or in email.
Now pattern #2 looks like a sure loser. #3 looks most promising, and
#1 midway between. Every word I could think of used an already-eliminated
letter, so this got pretty frustrating. That's when I dragged out my
crossword dictionary and looked for words that had those patterns.
I figured if I scanned I might see a word with some weird lettters.
Ixodid was all I found, mainly because so many letters were eliminated.
I am thinking of a six-letter word that everyone will agree they have
seen before.
