re #645. My dictionary defines dirndi as: "n. full, gathered skirt."

What's odd is that my dictionary has "dirndl" with an "l" on the end, not
and "i", and it defines *that* as a full skirt. I wondered if #644 was
spelled wrong; but perhaps my dictionary has a typo in it.

My apologies Mark. You're quite correct, the word is dirndl.
My dictionary is a small pocket one and now quite old, so a
lot of the letters prove difficult to read, especially differentiating
between i and l. Sorry for that.
