OK, I'm thinking of a 6-letter word.

I had a chance to go for brunch, but it seemed too mundane to be worthy of
this item. Oh well! :-)

Heh, I pick difficult words and people complain. I pick a word that's
not in the Webster's on-line dictionary and people complain. I pick an
easy word and people find it unworthy of this item (as it was it took
15 guesses to get the word, which is fairly average, but certainly not
below normal, in my experience). There's just no satisfying this crowd.
I guess I'll confine myself to the OED and find really bizarre words.
Is that what you want? :) Seriously, I think it's fun to mix it up once
in a while...I'm often surprised at what simple words stump people and
what complicated ones get solved fairly quickly.

Hey, Mark, you forgot to score Kevin's guess. Kent got both of the last
two scores.
