but there is enough common usage of "rearend" and so little usage
of this game, that I'm allowing the guess. Plus, I assume Mark
can provide a reference if asked.

Huh. Well, I was going by the fact that m-w offered "rearend" as a choice
when I searched for a particular pattern. But when I click on the choice,
it shows me the entry for "rear end". Onelook offers two dictionaries
when asked about "rearend", but both of them offer only "rear end" or
"rear-end" when clicked on.
So I guess I got away with one - my apologies.

Heh, well, I looked it up on Google and got lots of hits on
"rearend" in reference to automobiles, so that is what I meant
by common usage. You're just ahead of the curver, Mark ;) Sooner
or later, it'll probably be in some dictionary.
