I'm sorry, but something is screwed up big time: The scoring through "blood"
requires that "D" be the 5th letter. That directly conflicts with "cured"
and "livid" both being scored zero. I've checked this twice, so I don't think
I'm a crackpot (at least about this :-)

I don't see what it is that's wrong here - the D isn't necessarily the correct
letter in _blood_.
Explain to me why none of the other four letters could be correct, and I'll
concede to you.

All right, fine:

#567 block = 0, so b as letter 1, l as letter 2, & o as letter 3 are all out.
#572 tenor = 0, so o as letter 4 is out
#579 blood = 1, so only letter 5 is not out, so it must be d

If you're not using automated scoring, you should, and this kid of thing
won't happen.

I see what you're saying. Yes, block = 1. Thank you.
Automated scoring?

As far as "automated" scoring, try using Kent's script "/a/k/e/kentn/do.lm5"
