IHB I have my grading done, just need to turn in some paperwork
tomorrow. And happy because I won't teach at the community college
anymore... hated that place.

re: #523....Jiff, Statesboro?!?! aaaaiiiiieeee! dont move there!
Ive been there several times. Statesboro is the most boring, deadest
town in the whole world. Its close to the middle of nowhere and
gets really hot in summer (or maybe I just remember it that way since the
last time I was there was in August sometime, and the ac in the car
wasnt working)

Or to quote the famous Blind Willie McTell blues song, that the
Allman brothers often sing:

"You know I woke up in the morning, now I had
them Statesboro Blues
I woke up this morning now, I had them Statesboro blues
I looked over in the corner, grandma and grandpa had'em too"

IHB- It's Friday, which means I can now leave work and go home and fall
down in a quiet heap somewhere. (Insomnia kept me up most of the night
and I've pretty much just been an automaton at work today- good thing
the Leprechaun isn't here.)

IHB the new boy sent me some fun e-mail and it's looking like I'll definitely
see him this weekend. There has got to be something in the air.

Move into new pretty lab space is about 80% complete. It's *so* much easier
to DIY than to wait for movers to come on Tuesday. And the building is
closing at 6 pm, which means short workday. :)

BBC Radio Scotland Online fixed the stereo channel balance problem
which had been messing up their Real Audio feed for the last three
weeks. Busted sound card in the machine which did the Real Audio
encoding, they say. Yay! (And, next Thursday, Radio Scotland is
having a live session with the band The Poozies!)

Satellite 2590CDT on my lap, complete with an over the shoulder bag and all

IVHB STeve has had his eye patch off for several hours and not had much
trouble with the double vision. I told him not to push it too much but this
gives us hope that he will be able to get rid of it completely after all,
without having to resort to prisms in glasses.

IHB Danny came to K-Zoo yesterday and spent the entire evening and most of
the morning keeping me sane and happy. Friends are priceless.
IVHB Dave said he still needs me in his life as one of his best friends and
can't imagine us (and hopes we never) grow apart. The pain is still here,
but at least it's a bit dulled.

Managed to successfully attach a small bike computer (speed, clock,
travel time, odometer) to my bike today, tested it, and it appears to be
calibrated correctly.

IVHB scott mcnealy, *the* scott mcnealy, removed himself frm the
left coast and gave the keynote address for teh it summit at cobo
thursday.

his concept fr the compuing future is pretty right on even if
m$ and i-bm agree with mcnealy ... sun uses open sandard protocol
and the 'other two' either atach their vacuum cleaner to your bank
account or suck all your personal info into their control and sell it
without the slightest regard for 'you.

sun will shine - impo

worth every dime - and the lunch was 'ok' and the confab sessions
were ok as well.

IHB I went over to a co-worker's house tonight on a whim. We're both in that
"don't know many people in town" boat, so he asked me to hang out. We watched
"Dogma" and smoked 'til our lungs bled. I feel better now. :)
IAHB my friend, Jeremy, who I rarely see, dropped by at 3:45 AM (shortly after
I got home) and asked me about Dave. He and Dave and I all started at the
Papa together five years ago, so it was great telling him The Story. Well,
not great, but at least it was someone who KNEW Dave and could understand.

The pain is slooooooowly easing up, but at least it's moving up instead of
down. I can fall asleep without Tylenol PM now, and Jeremy decorated my
kitchen counter with a nice, white rose. I love friends.

When I asked Jason to pick up bread on the way over, he decided that I
needed a dozen roses too. Then we had a great time cooking a wonderful
dinner (with a starter of fresh sauted morels!), and had a lovely walk down
by the lake. It was a good evening.

And the Wings won today :)

And Carolyn is coming home!

Re #546,547: Heh. IHB 6 Grexers & friends came over to play Trivia on
Friday night, and we had a great time. Our team name was "Being harassed by
an empty oil tank hundreds of miles away", and we came in 8th, the highest
finish ever by a team in Michigan. Next year I'll be sure to have a better
connection, and then even more people can play. :)
