I've noticed a lot of people seem to confuse Plan B with RU-486. I
wonder how much of the opposition to Plan B is due to that confusion?

I'm as much against RU-486 as I am against any other abortion.
I was uninformed about Plan B and started out against it. I've now
moved to a neutral position. I am not sure if I should consider it to
be an abortion. If it is not killing a fetus, then I am not against it.

Plan B does not kill a fetus. From what I understand, it prevents an
egg from being fertalized.

I am not opposed to the use of Plan B, and somewhat neutral on RU-486.

No, but since RU-486 is effective in the first two months of pregnancy,
and the embryonic stage ends on the 6th weeks, there are two weeks
where RU-486 could be used to abort a fetus.
What happens when RU486 is taken after the first two months of
pregnancy?

Re resp:518: I thought it worked by preventing implantation of the egg
into the uterine lining.

" Plan B works like other birth control pills to prevent pregnancy. Plan
B acts primarily by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary
(ovulation). It may prevent the union of sperm and egg (fertilization).
If fertilization does occur, Plan B may prevent a fertilized egg from
attaching to the womb (implantation). If a fertilized egg is implanted
prior to taking Plan B, Plan B will not work. "
