tsk tsk, anne its the SAME Guinness here as there. Why? Because all
Guinness is brewed at the brewery at St. James Gate, Dublin in
Ireland. Using the same water and the same ingredients and the same
exacting brewing process. In fact I bet that when the brewers are
brewing over there, they have no idea if their batches are to be sold
internationally or domestically, because they are brewing use vats of
beer and the marketing process wouldn't begin until the stuff is
kegged.
guinness draft is of course not guinness extra stout. extra stout is
the bottled variety, which is really a different beer altogether with
a higher alcohol content (hence the *extra*) I like both versions,
and both versions will taste the same wherever you get them because
they both originate at the brewery in Dublin.

It doesn't taste the same if you buy it off the tap at a yuppy bar than if
you get it from the can right from the store (aka brewery)

completely untrue that all Guiness is brewed in Ireland.

#510 scholar why can't you understand that someone misstating something
he believes to be the truth is not someone who is lying.
The Guinness Brewery imports the Guinness we get here in the U.S.
direct from Dublin, where it is made. Now that I check Wikipedia,
which you must think everyone should do before they bother to post
anything, I see that there are parts of the world (west africa for
instance) where the brewery licenses the recipe.
But to the best of my knowledge there is no difference between the
Guinness draft we get in the U.S. and what they get in Ireland. Again,
you can find some 'net source that says otherwise fine, but even if so,
I'm not lying, I am simply stating the truth as I understand it.

and settling that it loses something. Hell, I had Dubliners tell me that
the quality IN Dublin depended on distance from St. James.

I managed to compile a linux kernel 2.4.31 that works with pcmcia modules that
I compiled (the precompiled ones would not work with the precompiled kernel)
and I can now use the same kernel for USB and PCMCIA, but not Cardbus because
of a bug. Anyone know how to use Cardbus cards with regular modules (hotplug
method)?
