(my name is Jim, BTW.
From the which host prompt, type um-gopherblue. Look for a selection
called "All the Gophers in the world." select this one. Next, pick
North America, and on the next menu, pick USA, and on the next one
you pick #35, North Carolina.
From this one you need #22, Sunsite at UNC chapel Hill.
once connected to sunsite, use "Dog eared pages..." option
and then from this one.... #18 The rock and roll lyrics server.
Brother Louie is NOT listed, neither is Ode to Billy Joe. But there are
a lot of other lyrics listed.
Have fun

If anyone still reads this, I've been looking for the soundtrack to the Tom
Hanks- Dan Akroid version of DRAGNET on CD. Any Info?

MCAD-6210, 1987 Universal Studios, MCA records. Never heard of it, ejkloos.
Whyever would you want it? I listened to it once, and never again. Thank
Goddess and goodness I got it as a cut-out.

There was a summer camp I went to that they played some kind of techno remix
version of the theme to dragnet whenever these two characters came on stage.
The song got stuck in my head and it's been haunting me for years. Every time
I went into a record store, I would look for it, Until I found out that it had
gone out of production. If anyone has any information where I could find a cd
of it I would be willing to pay for it. *what's a cut-out?* 8(

How much money? You might it worth my while, since I come to Ann Arbor enough.
A cut-out is a discontinued title which is deliberately defaced by the company
so that they can sell it without the original buyers feeling cheated.

I would be willing to pay up to $20 if it was in good shape.
(and you didn't have to go too far out of your way)

is there a way to fix a tape that has broken? this has happened several
times to me recently, so I have a couple of tapes that only play
continuous silence now. :(

that's really too gummy for audio tape. there should then be a couple of
seconds of silence where the break was, but the rest of the tape should be
fine.

What that should have said was that you should go and buy a tape splicing kit
(includes splicing tape and a guide for cutting) for about $5. If you don't
have the time/money to get one, you can mend the break with regular scotch
tape but that's really too gummy...
I hate when stuff like that happens.

Okay...a friend of mine recently lost a hard-to-find tape of Detroit
garage bands, called "It came from the Garage II: 15 of Detroit's
coolest bands spewing 22 Hot tracks of psychogaragebillysurfcountry"
he said it came from Wanghead Records in New Bostin, Michigan sometime in
sometime in the late 1980s (around 1987, he thinks)
anyone
a) heard of this
b) have a copy of this
c) know where i could get a copy of this?
leave me mail here, or at 94johnston@alma.edu
thanks

Carson in #61 -- if you are having anumber of tapes snap, and if
these tapes are less than 10 years old, you might need to have the machine

I think I have "Dark Globe" on one of my R.E.M. 3" singles, but I'm not
sure I can locate it.
(R.E.M. churns out about 2-CDs worth of B-sides for every album.
