I have to agree with Gerund on this one...true talent such as Tori's is hard
to find receiving the recognition it deserves nowadays...

True, I didn't mean to utter blasphemy. What I meant was that MTV ruins
everyone who does well. They'll play her over and over, every hour the same
thing. I'm hoping this wont make me unable to listen to her stuff. :(

Well, if listening to her stuff over and over is enough to make you not want to
listen to it anymore, did you truly enjoy it to begin with? But, I suppose I
can see your point. I suppose... *shrug* I listen to it every day and I am not
even CLOSE to being tired of it... *shrug* Gerund? Comment?

You're saying that if the same song got played over and over again, you'd still
like it? Remember Closer? Under the Bridge? Hmmm?

Only Tori album I listen to much is the one where she's on the cover,
in a bikini, waving a sword.

Comment:

If it's truly good I can never hear it too many times.
Stuff like that Blind Melon song is NOT good and so after about
20 times I can't stand it any more.
Tori has never had this problem so far as I've been concerned.
It's good, and I can listen forever.

Cute, krj...
Actually, entropy, yes, I can listen to it over and over. I listened to her
sing "Little Drummer Boy" for about nine hours straight. I liked it. I am not
dissing you, please don't get me wrong, I am just saying not everyone tires of
things... I went to two of her concerts, one right after the other, and
listened to nothing but Tori all the way to both concerts, all the way home,
and for a week before and about two weeks after. :) *shrug* I like her style.
(sorry about the messy post, guys, I am still not used to no word-wrap)

Re #54. My favorite Tori album is the one where she has the key in her
mouth.

...well, one of my favorites anyway.

the deejay on my radio station love Tori too. They have sound bits of her
saying "hello" and "goodbye." She did a live interview a while back on the
show. So I'm always hearing her. I like her uniqueness. I like Kate Bush too.

response 67 of 77: Mark Unseen   Jan 11 02:32 UTC 1996

Boys For Pele is Yori's latest album, and it's all about her relationships
with guys supposedly. Pele is a Hawaiian mountain goddess that they feed
handsome young men too. <= I think that says it all.

response 68 of 77: Mark Unseen   Jan 14 20:12 UTC 1996

Silly me. I had assumed the title referred to Pele the famous soccer
player.

FBC in East Lansing has a promo copy of the album priced at $22,
if you just can't wait for the official release date.
The cover photo is even sexier than usual for Tori.

Tori!!! Teh album is out on Tuesday! He he he. She is great. Did anyone
see her on SNL? Wasn't it great? The whloe harpsichord idea is so great,
and she is bringing that really old instrument back to life. Wahoooo!
orinoco
response 72 of 77: Mark Unseen   Jan 23 20:51 UTC 1996

harpsichord, eh? Tell me more!
robh
response 73 of 77: Mark Unseen   Jan 25 00:36 UTC 1996

Her hapsichord playing is even wilder than her piano playing.
I can't wait to see her live again.
cornflk
response 74 of 77: Mark Unseen   Feb 4 21:57 UTC 1996

Tori uses the harpsichord sort of like a percussion instrument on this album.
Most of the songs (aside from being naturally orgasmic) with the darned thing
are just amazing, and I think that if one had never heard teh harpsichord in
its normal context, they would almost never guess that Tori was using the same
instrument. Woah. And yes, Erinn, I am something of a big Tori freak...
yippee for the new album!
