The whole point of such riddles is to recognize the dumb (but not excluded)
answer.

Yah, but excluding said dumb answer makes it kinda hard ;)

response 56 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 24 02:10 UTC 1997

He fell to his death? Er..turned out he had no parachute?
orinoco
response 57 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 24 19:11 UTC 1997

Parachute didn't work, rather--hence the empty backpack.

The someone was a fish, and the fish tank broke? Thus, without any
container to live in (no water), the fish suffocated and died?

A large aquarium-type tank broke, he drowned, and then almost all of the water
drained away.
Or he was slammed into a wall by the force of the escaping water, broke his
skull, and the water flowed away.

Okay...Here's another riddle...Pretty easy, too.

A man leaves the building he works in, and walks towards
the parking lot. Without the benefit of moonlight or
any artificial light, he was able to spot his black car
100 meters away. How was this possible?
orinoco
response 64 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 26 19:17 UTC 1997

It was during the day.
<bows and gives jennifer a cookie>

A man lies dead--murdered--in a mechanic's basement, next to 51 bicycles.
Why was he killed?
bopkins
response 68 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 27 20:48 UTC 1997

He was cheating at cards? er...one of the bicycle cards was missing,
and that's why there was only 51 of them.

A man is walking in the rain. He carries no umbrella, which
would explain why he is completely soaked. He also wears no hat,
yet his hair is not wet. How come?
bikeman
response 71 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 30 19:45 UTC 1997

Hhhmmmm.....He has no hair? (:P
bopkins
response 72 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 30 20:51 UTC 1997

bikeman
response 73 of 102: Mark Unseen   May 31 02:32 UTC 1997
