The whole point of such riddles is to recognize the dumb (but not excluded)
answer.

The someone was a fish, and the fish tank broke? Thus, without any
container to live in (no water), the fish suffocated and died?

A large aquarium-type tank broke, he drowned, and then almost all of the water
drained away.
Or he was slammed into a wall by the force of the escaping water, broke his
skull, and the water flowed away.

Okay...Here's another riddle...Pretty easy, too.
A man leaves the building he works in, and walks towards
the parking lot. Without the benefit of moonlight or
any artificial light, he was able to spot his black car
100 meters away. How was this possible?
