Ok, I have successfully snatched the computer chip from Master Po's hand,
and may now create the Laundry conference. Tomorrow, since I didn't bring
my Grex file today. (I do my Grexing at work, during lunch).
If you see me at the potluck tomorrow you can see the new tattoos from lifting
the heavy, red hot config file with my bare arms. :) :) :)

I certainly intend to, and there will be no airing of other people's
dirty laundry.
I'm still looking for a good co-fw... Any volunteers?

I was kind of surprised to see that there isn't a 'pets' conference.
Anyone want one? Was there one that didn't get used? I'll fw it
if anyone's interested.

So was I, when you pionted that out. I'm not interested, personally, but
I suspect that there is an untapped market out there for it !!

Well, Brenda, it's been a few days, and the response has been underwhelming;
but I too expect that there's a market for it. Do you still want it? or
do you want further market research before sticking out your neck?
If on reflection you *do* want to go ahead, mail me & I'll take care of it.

well, I'd like a pets conference, but I don't generally read co-op, and
just happened into the agora announcements item by accident.
It would be good to share vererinary info and training ideas, find suitable
mates for breeding, etc.

Brenda indicates, in mail, that she's ready to go for it. I'll try
to get it set up in the next 48 hours or so. (Past my bedtime now,
system pretty slow, & I have to check my book of spells.)

Brenda, I have a file that you can read if you want to learn a
little about FWing. I got it from M-net, and have edited to
make it relevant for Grex. To read it (from the Ok: prompt),
type !menumore /u/nephi/fwguide
Good luck!

Washtenaw Information Networks, a coalition of computer groups around
Washtenaw County, would like to propose a WIN conference, to talk about
things pertaining to WIN. If it's technically possible and if M-Net is
also interested, we'd like this conference to be linked to a WIN
conference on M-Net.

Only problem then is referencing responses by their numbers... there will
be two different numbers for each response: one on Grex, one on M-Net.

Not necessarily -- depends on how it's done. There are currently some
shared Picospan and Picospan/YAPP conferences that use NFS (network
file system) -- there's only one copy of the conference, and the
directory containing it is "mounted" over the net on the various
systems that can access it. With this setup, the item and response
numbers are identical regardless of where you're reading the conference
from.
I don't think Grex is running NFS, for security reasons. But I think
the conference is a good idea and wonder if the technical barriers can
be overcome.
