Jim said there was a little box with lines in it and he got the lines out of
the little box and the alarm no longer beeps. But it still thinks it is
Wednesday. I can now use the clock and timer.

On a 91 Ford Escort, where is the air filter located? My old 87 Escort had
the filter sitting on top the engine block.

Is that fuel injected? Especially if so, the air filter may not be
obvious. The best approach is probably to find the fuel intake
manifold, then follow the big pipe back past the throttle body and look
for anything past there that has latches on it. It's likely to be low
down and towards the front, and it's not likely to be the traditional
big round thing with the thumb nut that spins off and the flat
cylindrical filter element.

It may not have latches, either. I've had some cars where it was
actually screwed together. Usually it's the only big black plastic box
readily visible in the engine compartment, though.

Re bullshit: Yeah, I'd call it projecting. The author is projecting meaning
onto Melville's story that Melville himself didn't intend.

Ok. There's this song stuck in my head and I can't figure out who sings
it or the title so I can download it. It sounds like it's the Alan
Parsons Project but I'm not sure. Came out in the 80s, I think. Chorus
goes something like this:
Yes, and all of the things that I said when I'm with you
Come rushing by in my head when I'm with you
Fourteen joys and a will to be married
All of the things I said are very...
then something about "sentimental one" or something.

Geez, bees, here's the first Google link:
Sentimental Lady
Written & Sung: B. Welch; Guitar and Backup Vocal: L. Buckingham
You are here and warm
But I could look away, and you'd be gone
'Cause we live in a time
When meaning falls in splinters from our lives
That's why I've travelled far
'Cause I come so together where you are
Yes, and all of the things that I said that I wanted
Come rushing by in my head when I'm with you
Fourteen joys and a will to be merry
All of the things that they say are buried
Sentimental, gentle wind
Blowing through my life again
Sentimental lady, gentle one
(All I needed)
Sentimental, gentle wind
Blowing through my life again
Sentimental lady, gentle one
Sentimental lady
Yes, and all of the things that I said that I wanted
Come rushing by in my head when I'm with you
Fourteen joys and a will to be merry
All of the things that they say are buried
Sentimental, gentle wind
Blowing through my life again
Sentimental lady, gentle one
(All I needed)
Sentimental, gentle wind
Blowing through my life again
Sentimental lady, gentle one
(All I needed)
Yes, all of the things that I said that I wanted
Come rushing by in my head when I'm with you
Fourteen joys and a will to be merry
All of the things that they...
(All I needed)
All of the things that I said that I wanted
Come rushing by in my head when I'm with you
Fourteen joys and a will to be merry...
WEBMISTRESS speculates:
Bob originally released this song on a Fleetwood Mac album (pre-Lindsey
and Stevie), but it's a good, sweet, romantic song (I think written for his
wife)
so I guess he decided to pull it out for his solo album. Lindsey contributes
to
this one, which seems approprite, since he replaced Bob Welch in FM! Again,
I can't help but notice Bob Welch's tendency towards those pimp daddy
album covers - first Three Hearts, then this. I am seeing a theme here - and
somehow it doesn't seem to have much to do with "sentimental ladies"!
And yet this song is a beautiful tribute to true love...so I guess appearances
can be deceiving.

Cool beans... off to audiogalaxy I go.
Hmm. Misheard lyrics indeed. Next I'll be asking if that Jimi Hendrix
song is "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy"... :)

RE#21> Local frog populations, facing a challenge to their habitat from a
newly constructed series of trolley car lines, decide to strike back. Their
target is through group action, by attacking local farmers fields which are
used by a local company for the produce to make a delicious fruit tea, the
frogs plan to destroy the company, drive its employees out of work, and end
business for the new trolley line. But the company decides to get even and
hires local rain makers to try and cook up a devil of a storm. It is so
effective that the national guard is called in and uses hail rockets to
dispatch the highly destructive hail which developed as a result of the storm.
The frogs survived all of this unharmed though, due to the judicious use of
shelters they built out of left over galvanized chimney pipe.

on
washtenaw. I can't remember the name offhand though.

Ann Arbor Stamp and Coin, I used to frequent it. Good selection but the owner
has slowly begun to move more into the pawn business as well, with a selection
of older watches and stuff. Excellent paper currency selection though if that
is your thing. You might also want to check the securities place near whole
foods, although I am not sure if they do collectable coins. Certainly they
do sell gold, silver, and other bullion/minted coin.

there may be a sixpence. Will look for it.

Sixpences haven't been minted since Britain went to decimal currency in
the early 70's. I have no idea what a coin shop might charge for one.

Found this on eBay...kinda cool. Most of the "wedding" sixpences go for about
$3 or $4.
