Why don't you try it, and find out?

I am successfully telnetted to grex from Warren - how do I make a forward file
so I don't need to telnet to read my mail? I have a .forward file but I seem
to have removed my yahoo address from it. It reads /keesan right now - shoul
dit read /keesan,keesan@yahoo.com ?

Edit a file called .forward in your main directory to contain only
keesan@yahoo.com

Put each entry on a separate line. For example:

/keesan
keesan@yahoo.com

This way you will receive a copy of your message on Grex, and also on
Yahoo. If you only want to see a copy on Yahoo, just use:

keesan@yahoo.com

I am not sure if the "/" is required to keep a local copy of the
message on Grex. The man page for "sendmail" doesn't say.

Try "man forward", which tells about various mail-related files.
The section on .forward is down towards the bottom..

Presumably you've got "\keesan" and not "/keesan" in your .forward --
  there's a big difference.

(Some mail programs, including smail which was once installed on grex,
require a \. Sendmail, which is presently installed, does not care.)

Kendra Lisa Mates Wolter (kendra@cyberspace.org)
Born April 1, 2002 at 8:10pm Eastern Time
 Weight 7lb 10oz
 Length 20"

Everything is just about as perfect as it could be. The birth went
about as quickly and easily as a birth can go. Valerie is happy. Jan
is happy. Kendra nurses well and sleeps well and, on first impression,
seems to be another fairly mellow baby. Arlo is spending the night at
a friend's house, and will meet his sister in the morning.

interesting...Kendra Mates Wolter...isnt Arlo's name Arlo Wolter Mates?
So Kendra Wolter and Arlo Mates, brother and sister with different last
names eh? hope that doesnt confuse them...but still cute!

Okay, you beat rhiannon by ten minutes, but Griffin is longer and heavier.
congratulations!

Is it to early to discuss an arranged marriage? :-)

response 65 of 512: Mark Unseen   Apr 2 13:42 UTC 2002

Actually, Kendra Wolter. The "Mates" is a second middle name, not a
last name. Yup, Arlo Mates has them the other way around. I think
they'll manage to remember that they are siblings anyway. Some other
people might be confused, but not very. With the permuations of modern
naming and marriage, I think the number of people presuming that all
members of a family will have the same last name is steadily diminishing.
Most school administrators and teachers are long past that (at least in
Ann Arbor).

IWLTA that the latest issue of the RISKS digest, volume 22 number 1,
is available to everyone on Grex.

Some of this information is of a time-critical nature, and I regret
not having read it and posting this notice earlier. However, when
you read it, please keep in mind that the data is no longer current.

Very awesome guys. Congrats!

That reminds me, I've got to wish my cousin a happy b-day. She was
born April 1, too.

I kind of think having a birthday on a holiday (even if it is April
Fool's Day) is kind of cool. Congrats to everyone.

response 72 of 512: Mark Unseen   Apr 2 18:19 UTC 2002

Having a birthday on or near Xmas, or on Valentine's Day, is not cool,
according to the people I know in that position. It depends on the holiday.

I find that having a birthday 15 days before Christmas is tolerable,
but I wouldn't want it much closer.

response 74 of 512: Mark Unseen   Apr 2 19:56 UTC 2002

I agree with Brighn. A friend of mine has her birthday on a Federal
holiday. April 15. OKay, WE don't celebrate it, but the Feds
certainly do. She didn't celebrate too many birthdays on the proper day
while she was growing up.
