So let's see if I've got this straight. You and Clinton were stuck
on the Bridge during rush hour, and...

...and then the guard said "Citizenship," and he looked up, wiped his mouth,
and replied "United States."

Wait. That wasn't me.

sex is the oldest thing being learned by human beings and its the only thing
which is common for any living objects so why its a taboo? I request u all
to visit a temple "KHAJURAHO" in INDIA where it is being worshiped

Well, eating is common for any living objects, too. It's even more common:
some living organisms don't engage in sex.

Of course that depends on what you mean by "eating" -- does it include
the way plants take in nutrients and photosynthesize?

i think the way flowers have sex is pretty cool.

response 57 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 00:49 UTC 2002

sex and cool are not complementing each other? There is nothing cool about
it for non US people.Even Mexico and Peru (Inka Civilization) have more to
say about it.

Sure, plants eat through their roots and stomata. There is a more
general term for it - metabolism - if you prefer.

oval - would you like to do it that way? Has some advantages.....

heh, yea.

response 60 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 01:08 UTC 2002

If you want to talk about nutrient intake and metabolism, that's fine,
but I'd argue it's a superclass of "eating" just as reproduction is a
superclass of sexual reproduction.. I'm not sure I'd agree that "eating"
  is universal.
oval
response 61 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 01:14 UTC 2002

..eating is a superclass of sex too.

rcurl
response 62 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 01:33 UTC 2002

What would you argue to assert that any nutrient intake is not "eating"?
oval
response 63 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 01:41 UTC 2002

putting lotion on dry skin?

rcurl
response 64 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 02:02 UTC 2002

That has a mechanical affect on the skin. But some substances are absorbed
through the skin and then metabolized. Why is that not "eating" too, since
it is nutrient intake? Probably can't be a very balanced "meal", however.

You could use the word "eating" to refer to that, I guess. (Actually, I can
think of times when you might. If your doctor asks how much of a certain
nutrient you eat in a day, and you happen to get a lot of it from your skin
lotion, then you'd probably include that in your answer to the question.)

So,can we do sex for slimming? we can loose some calories by doing it.Hence
it cannt be eating which means calorie intake.
oval
response 67 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 1 21:55 UTC 2002

unless you swallow, sarkhel.

It seems to me that being fed through through an IV would be being fed, but
not eating. Eating to me specifically means putting food in one's mouth and
swallowing it, but maybe I'm being too restrictive.

response 71 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 2 05:23 UTC 2002

That's mastication. That is, of course, the usual way WE eat. Do Venus
Flytraps "eat" flies? Do spiders "eat" flies? Do mosquitos "eat" blood?
oval
response 72 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 2 18:59 UTC 2002

no they all "suck"

rcurl
response 73 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 2 19:17 UTC 2002

If you ask anyone "what do spiders (mosquitos, Venus Fly Taps) eat", you
will get an answer that I am pretty sure will rarely include "suck".

oval
response 74 of 186: Mark Unseen   May 2 19:20 UTC 2002

but mosquitos DO suck.
