Rane, I don't think anyone guessed "appals", so please don't penalize
carson for it. I said that I would have guessed it, but I couldn't
because I had just gone.

Whoops on me! Carson is in the clear. I have corrected the attributions
in letter.match and, shall we forget about my accepting appals??

(That's a comment, obviously it's not a 6 letter word.)
I can't find aurata anywhere either.

Here we go again....(I guess we know that isn't the word, eh?)

From: "The Shorter Oxford English Dictionary: On Historical Principles"
Third Edition (Oxford: Clarendon Press), 1973, p. 132 column
3 (aurata is within the definition of "aurantiaceous"):

      "...Aurata...[...(used subst.) of /aurare/ to gild, f. /aurum/
gold.] A gold-coloured fish; prob. the Golden Maid, a variety of
      Wrasse."

And lest you start harping on the fact that it's capitalized, know that
every defined word in this dictionary is capitalized. Since it refers
to a kind of fish (like "cod" or "walleye") I don't believe it is a
proper noun.

My next guess is:

albata (a white metal composition; German silver [same source as
         above, obviously a different page]).

Me, harp? The problem was that its a *marine* fish..pretty tricky. Since
aurata 4 kentn is OK, it goes in its original location.

errata was guessed in #63. You can see the list of guesses in

(not a clue. I couldn't find a word to match what I know from previous
guesses at all.)

yukata (a man's lightweight kimono; yes, it's Japanese, but I found
it in an American dictionary and the definition included
an example of its usage, quoted from Time Magazine)

...running out of ideas here...
