Rane, if *I* threw in a guess, it would have been all over.

(Um. Emma, shouldn't that be "crier"?)

At any rate, Rane, having had more experience with this game than the
rest of us, shamelessly takes advantage of someone:

cryer 0 (embu)
blitz 5 (rcurl)

Go ahead. I was surprised at how quickly y'all narrowed in on it. I'll
have to try something more devious if I get another chance.

well, excuse me for being so innocent..:)
"cryer" COULD be a word....;}

In the fully verbal travelling version, anyone can challenge a word (for
not *being* a word), and conscensus determines the validity. In this case,
I was so "anxious" to drop my word, that I didn't notice that cryer is
not a word! I am now embarassed, by taking advantage of everyone, for my
petty enthusiasm.

Dave, you could have thrown in a *misleading* guess (does such exist?).

In response to an earlier inquiry - five letters is optimum for the
travel game. Four is too trivial, and six has too many permutations and
combinations, to hold in mind. However in this version, where we have
a written list, longer words could be used. I think, though, that it might
pale after a while.

My misguess "blips" was because I had not imposed elate=2, but on 1.
Elate gave the "t", so the only problem was, what is spelled blit??
That would be a good word for the travel game. W

Well, that's enough chitchat. On with the game:

(I meant to say that I was indebted to robh for his guess "blimp" in Game
2. It solved the puzzle. However I wondered whether it was inspired by
the previous words, or whether it was solely a trial balloon :-> ?)

(An original "rule" was that guesses had to pause after 5 were in line.
However it looks like the proposer needs to sign on more often!)

Its davel by a nares.

Both game 2 and game 3 took exactly 12 attempts, to find the word. That's
amazing, considering there is a considerable element of chance.

I can't read, or count, or something. Remmers came in at 9:17; Davel at
9:19. Therefore, if I get my head screwed back on forwards, Remmers had
the edge. Does everyone agree with that? Take it away, remmers.
