Yeah, they're a lot bigger than us, and most people connecting from
Merit to Grex are freeloading anyway. I'm not sure we can get them to
change any more than the tail can wag the dog. First we do need to be sure
the problem isn't on Grex's end, and that changing ICnet parameters won't
fix things.

Those who are coming through Merit and freeloading are the ones who don't
have a problem with the incompatibility, sinc ethey have to come through
one of the gophers anyway. It's those of us "authorized users" who have
the problems with Merit. Still, Merit is bigger than us, and as long as
we're the only system they're having problems connecting to, it probably
isn't too big a concern for them.

Thats OK Mark--I think I know a couple of them well enough to try
that.
But seriously, I think we're having this problem some other sites,
too. I got a piece of mail that I accidently deleted, from some person
on the west coast who hasn't been able to get here recently, and had
to find someone else with a account on a different system to send me
mail with, saying 'help!'. And since I deleted it, I can't respond...
*sigh*

Right. We get frozen up when we use our access codes for merit,
directly. We're not the freeloaders. And, yes, the problem didn't exist
until the router got messed with.
