That we don't agree with - we open air dry on sunny days, and the
bed linen smells delicious that night. (People sometimes call it
"ozone", but it isn't - I've been wondering what the odor is, though,
that things hung out in the fresh air acquire. I have considered that
it is the contrast with the inside air, which we get used to.)

Rane is not on a busy street. We don't wash laundry on rainy days (except
by accident). I have strung up clothes lines in apartments. If your laundry
dries stiff you can roll it up and it will soften - big deal.

Really? You just roll it up and it softens automatically. That has
always been my gripe with line drying. Sure it is nice for sheets (and
they do smell nicer when line dried as rcurl mentioned) but for
towels...Blech. I need fluffy towels but they are always stiff when
line dried.

I like the scratchy feeling of towels dried outside. It doesn't last
for many dryings, however.

None of which solves the solid oil conundrum, of course. ;)

Admin note,

As sole fw, I have decided that item 18 was of inappropriate content and
thus has been deleted from this conference. It only took me 5 years to get
around to it.

I am looking for a co fw. If anyone is interested you know what to do.

I am also trying to give this conference new life. Please consider adding
an item, or a comment. Thanks.

I refuse to comment on such an ironic act of twilliany.
