Ratify! Ratify! Ratify! The board can CYA VM after the fact and adopt her
actions as actions of the corporation. Been there, done that. No problemo.
Of course, if they don't then VM is twisting, slowly, in the wind. You would
not do that to her, would you?

It's OK with El Presidante, if that helps.

The usual procedure is for the board to authorize a person to act on
behalf of the corporation. I suggest that at its next meeting, the board
"adopt the lease to <property> as executed on <date>". Then it is in the
minutes, and who signed it doesn't matter.

Hey, if it's not legally binding then grex wouldn't have to give a 4 month
notice to move. don't tell the landlord that...
:-)
this is great news! I'd have preferred a different site, but "a bird in the
hand...".
Thanks to all who helped bring this about! Good work folks!

After spending an afternoon there moving junk out of the room and cleaning
it up, I must say I think this room is pretty good. The pumpkin is much
better than the dungeon, I think. We'll be OK.

such? Please? What fun!
Perfume business? Odd neighbor. SHould be educational. Hope not inflamatory.
When's the move date and what sort of help would be helpful? Tea at my
house before/after?

Move date will pretty much be set by Ameritech. STeve will be contacting them
about getting the lines changed over. We hope the move itself will be very
easy.

Re #453, 454: it doesn't matter who *wrote* the lease - it matters that
either the board adopted it in advance and authorized an individual to
sign it, or that the board adopted it after it was signed by all parties,
and that in either case this is recorded in the minutes. On the other
hand, you can just not worry.

Only on Grex! Tendrils and perfume and pumpkin! I hope you give Charley Brown,
Linus and Snoopy root privileges. After all, they will be there recording
the ratification votes of the delegates. Is there room to hitch the horses?

Arnold, I wish I had the skill to paint Charlie Brown et all around the
roots <g>. Ditto horses. Hmmm.
Valerie, will next Monday be too late? Can you hold a ladder for me? I'm
kind of jumpy about ladders.
I hope the move is easy, too.

kewl ... when the move happens, about how many days is grex expected
to be 'down?' please make a reasonable guess - this is NOT a 'push.'
is there going to be another volunteer-gathering for available ppl
to 'do something?'

We'll be down while the phone lines are being switched over, which
*should* be enough time to move the hardware and get things set
up. Downtime should be well under a day.

Whee!
I can bring Michael's step ladder if there isn't one in the building. It
would look sort of silly to stop at eye level. Wanna get me a quart of dark
green acrylic latex? I may have some here, but I'm not sure. Also a little
bit of charcoal grey. Wish I had a few dabs of yellow, too, for contrast.

It is possible for Ameritech to do it right every now and then... as long as
you aren't expecting it. :)
