IHB I got all my training in my new job done (it was training
for two different employers, the one I'm on salary for and the
one I do work for.

I use OneNote for my web based trainings so I can reference those notes
through out the year to refresh my skills...and then for annual renewal
it's right there. OneNote is very nice..wish Mac had a way to interface it.

I'm happy because Grex is back up! :-)

IHB Grex is back up, too.

Thanks tod and walkman. Now I'm working through getting permissions
to all the applications I need to do my job. At least I'm back to
the Unix shell I like to use and an app that I used to be very good
at using. It's coming back a bit at a time. Hopefully having had
5 years experience with it will cut short the current re-learning
curve by a lot.

I haven't really gotten into OneNote much. I guess I should give it
a shot and see how well it works for note taking. Normally I just
use pen and paper, but that makes it difficult to find notes later
for review through out the year. I know at least one other person
that swears by OneNote.

Nothing beats the Windows+S combo in OneNote, imo. It's great for
doing snapshots and then putting narratives below them.

#48 I thought there was a One Note for mac? Do you mean you can't synch
to it from another device?

Re #43:

I didn't think of it that way, to be honest. I can see that angle now.
The dopamine jolts probably work better than Ludovico technique.

Since i just read an item about a grex feature request, i will add one
of my own (unless it's already a feature?):

Can you/it would be nice if, you could share a conference between
different grex servers. So you post in a conference and that same
conference is shared with affiliate/subscribed grex servers, (it might
be the only conference/or topic on any particular server which is shared
this way)--- is it/can it, has it??? :P

The OneNote for Mac only works with M$ Cloud storage..you can't grab a
local *.one file or *.onepkg notebook and import it. Very annoying..I dont
need big brother nor a OneCloud hack to access my stuff..nor do I want
to rely on Internet sessions for Mac OneNote.

IHB someone on YouTube combined my 2006 performance of Adaline Shepard's 1906
rag "Pickles and Peppers" at the Old Time Piano Playing Contest with Keystone
Kops footage. https://youtu.be/a8jphxpi1ro

Re *:51, above:

The idea has been considered. Keeping the items on separate servers
synchronised is not easy. Since we only have one server, and the conferences
are in decline, the feature is not likely to garner staff time.

gelinas: thanks for answering my question. That makes sense.
It is at least possible?

response 57 of 211: Mark Unseen   Mar 23 00:36 UTC 2016

Anything is possible. But I don't think anyone is willing to rewrite the
conferencing software to run on multiple servers.

It seems fine just as it is. I was just wondering. It is a cool feature
that is implemented on the citadel bbs software.
Grex is way cool, and the web/text client aspect (of
backtalk/fronttalk), which are both as accessible is brilliant.

I'm happy because I realized that "the cloud" will save the tech world
from a certain demise.
Cloud-everything! I can fit-bit it to my facebook!

Oh and the UN will take control of ICAN which means more freedoms.

IHB I'm off for a few days. I'm always happy when I get a few days
off (more than a weekend). I'm also happy that today I had lunch with
some of the people I used to work with in a previous job and it was
fun to hear everyone again and the food was reasonable, too.

begun? :) ), and maybe i will get to know some of the people here before
the year is out.
