Richard, I am so jealous - tickets were through the roof down here, so I opted
out . . ."Maybe I'm Amazed" is one of my favorite songs in the world.

I too spent some snuggle time on the couch, surrounded by friends who love
me and I love, as we watched the dog show and provided our own running
commentary.

It's now 4:30am.. And I just came back from pouring myself a cup of coffee
in the kitchenette that's been brewing for me most of the night while I study
for my last college finals. and the window was open, and I hear.. perfectly
well in the north courtyard, the sound of a womans voice moaning in exstacy..
echoing off the walls.. Perfectly audible. Not certain where It came from..
but I just had to throw off tyhe couples rhythmn wherever they were with the
lines of.. "Man.. all I wanted was a cup of coffee and I get a show" and it
got quiet after that and my laughter echoed thru the courtyard.. I can be so
EVIL sometimes.. but it felt good. I've lost my last marble as of tonight..
so ppfftt :) I'm happy an i don't care :)

RE 401> *chuckle* When I read that I could not help but think of the law quad
at the U of M.
The apartment is almost clean, almost shimmery and clean. Only the bathroom
left to go and the spring cleaning is done. Now just to keep it up.

re #400- the dog show on Animal Planet- Eukanuba tournament or
something?

Re: Grad schools- I'm not sure the one I was looking at in Texas is in
Austin- would have to go back and check my printouts (which are at home
where I am not). Iowa would have to have an amzing program to get me to
go there... Don't think I would like being in the middle of nothing but
corn. <grins>

Indeed. It's much better to watch with your own commentary that's been fueled
my lots and lots of margaritas.

The Detroit Edison pole-installing machine, which was supposed to show up
tomorrow but showed up last Friday and promised to come back yesterday showed
up early this morning instead. Jim woke up the next door neighbors (who he
had been visiting late last night) to borrow their car keys to empty their
driveway for the machine to go through, and we watched them use a very large
corkscrew to install a 30' pole which now has a live wire half-way down it
waiting for him to do his end of the wiring. They will splice it. Now all
he has to do is change the water heater to electric (in a new location),
insulate and drywall the basement walls (first), wire in space heaters for
each room, replace one fuse box with two breaker panels, and we will have
CHEAP electric heat next winter (2.2 cents per kWh off peak, with luck, or
half the price of gas). The trick is not to heat from 10 am to 7 pm but have
enough insulation to retain the heat, and cook supper. This is not a suitable
rate for uninsulated houses that air condition while cooking supper as the
on-peak summer rate is about 20 cents/kWh. (Normal rate about 8.5).

It only took since last September to get the pole in.

Nice sunny, cool day today. I found a nice excuse to bike over to Maple
Village (renew driver's license and get something from Radio Shack).

Scott - The Secretary of State isn't in Maple Village anymore. But you
probably know that, since it's over by your favorite video store, Panorama
Video.

Yeah, last time I was there a month ago, it was in Maple Village, with Panda
House and the movie theatre. Did it move since then?

response 411 of 1000: Mark Unseen   Apr 30 19:54 UTC 2002

Apparently not. It was right where I'd last seen it, in the middle of the
Maple Village north side. It used to be over behind Panorama (way in the back
of the shopping center).

Found a cool old-style little hand-held spotlight from a car at the ReUse
Center. Not your usual cheapo plastic thing; this is a chrome casing around
a spot lamp which must run at least 100 watts. Two bucks, and all I had to
do was put on a new lighter plug. Damn thing is about as bright as the
noonday sun, too.

We found Scott at the Reuse Center, also a Calcinator Timer that turns your
incinerator on and off three times a day and ought to work just as well on
a dehumidifier or attic fan.

I guess I must be losing my mind. I mixed up the old and new locations of
the SoS. My apologies.

Anne, Michigan is the capital of Kellogg's Corn Flakes. Iowa surely
wouldn't mean such a major change, would it? (only kidding)

IHB I have a new lawn mower and it is totally cool. It is a cordless
electric mower. It is really quiet and I was able to cut a good chunk
of my backyard last night. I had to give up though because I only had a
little bit of time for yard work. The mower still had plenty of charge
when I stopped. This weekend I am going to play with my new toy some
more. I might actually have a neat lawn this year instead of a lawn
that looks like it got a bad hair cut. (My push reel mower seems to
miss spots sometimes and always leaves the lawn looking a little
sloppy).

My ethics class is over. It was fun, but hurt my GPA some. Apparently I
really can't write essays, particularly essays about ethics.

The final wasn't worth much, I just went as a symbol mostly. And a hope at
a 50% or better, cause beyond that it doesn't effect my final grade. heh.

I SO wanted to end my essay on randomized clinical trials with "Long live
randomized clinical trials!!!"

need sleep...
