IWLTA that the last 5 issues of the RISKS digest, volume 22 numbers
5-9, are in /a/r/u/russ/public for your edification. I just read
all of them myself and I can't quite provide a summary that does them
justice - if you ever find them thought-provoking, read them.
These digests contain a Unix-vs-Linux rant in 22.06 and several follow-up
counter-rants in 22.07. They are all somewhat informative, and I suggest
that anyone interested in such issues have a look-see.

Yes, she got to see Kendra, but not very much. Most of the places she
was in where full of people with nasty infectious diseases, and
bringing a newborn into such places is not highly recommended. We'd
bring my mom out to a lobby to meet the baby and take a few other
precautions, but it was difficult to arrange.

Yesterday I stopped by Miller Manor with a donation for Evelyn's Boutique,
the thrift shop started by a resident to resell possessions left behind when
other residents died, and discovered that the shop was closed. It was closed
for her funeral as she died Monday. The shop will reopen - she had a lot of
helpers including some assigned by the social worker agencies. I donated the
boombox to a resident and got a big hug in exchange. They will all miss her.

Re: #389
<i stops grexing, ducks out to the living room, and starts (Barber's)
Adagio for Strings playing. As he listens, a little boy a bit older
than Arlo plays in the courtyard, and a chipmunk briefly explores i's
balcony>
(i's never seen a chipmunk on his balcony before)

Wow. I just read the article about the suspect in Evelyn's murder. He
sounds like an old Yellow Cab semi-regular.

Turns out the suspect was not the Yellow Cab semi-regular I was
thinking of. He was arrested when he sold other tenants in his
building some of Evelyn's stuff for $50 and they called police. The
guy's name is Ira Savage.
