There are two possibilities that I know of. I'll go with -

prose
chelsea
response 406 of 1000: Mark Unseen   Aug 9 19:52 UTC 1993

(Sound of an envelope being opened.) And the winner is...

Just in case...

prole

(Yes, I have heard this word used in a conversation. Short for
"proletarian." What, would I lie?)

Yeah, and it could also be "prowe," as in, "Ye Olde Shippe's Prowe." :-)

Sorry for the delay. I got real busy this afternoon and couldn't get back
on until now. The winner is....

probe 4 (chelsea)
prose 5 (katie) !! Congratulations

It was a coin flip at the end. Sorry, Chelsea. When its down to two
words I always seem to guess wrong too.

prole is slang and prowe is, well, creative. Nice tries under the
circumstances. I can relate. jdg, you could have increased your odds
when you guessed prone if you had noticed that "lions" was a "1".
(I am assuming here that you had already gotten it down to pro_e.)

Katie's "it", everybody run and hide (oops wrong game :)

(grumble, whine, grumble) Congratulations, Katie. Couldn't
happen to a nicer broad.

(Or a broader one!)

I spy with my littlegreen eye.... opps, wrong game, too.

I'm thinking of a 5-letter word.

Won't katie be surprised to see such activity?
We're one over the limit of 5 outstanding requests, btw.

You don't want to mess with me, sir. When I start using
words like "broad" you know I'm ticked. ;-)
