When I was a kid, it was a big deal to walk up to the local party store
and buy a Pepsi. I think they cost fifty cents or something like that.
My dad would sometimes give us money for a pop and we would walk the
half mile to the store. I almost always bought a Pepsi which came in a
half liter glass bottle. I miss Pepsi that was made with sugar and came
in glass bottles. But, since pop isnt really good for a person, it is
just as well because if they still sold that kind, I would probably
drink more of it.

In the spring, around Passover, in some areas, you can get coke that's
made without corn syrup. It still comes in plastic bottles, tho. I
don't think I've seen Pepsi like that, however.

re #31 what is The Plan? Are you planning to cut out all the fun stuff
to eat and drink?
Also your mom drinks FLAT diet coke?! she's weird...

Why is it with some diet coke that when you pour it onto ice in a glass then
it makes a ton of foam and leaves no carbonation or bubbles left in the
beverage?

I think that sometimes has to do with leftover detergent in the glass.

We wash our glasses with dish soap..no detergents. I'm curious if the
icecubes themselves maybe have a chemical from the tap that causes the
carbonation to fizz out?

re #42- the Plan is simply a means of living healthier- eating better,
getting more excercise, etc.
And yes, she's weird. I had to inherit it from somewhere....

Come summer I like to make floats out of diet Squirt and
rainbow sherbet. Thick, tall ones.

re #47 why would you mix DIET squirt with sherbert or ice cream?
Doesn't the sugar in the sherbert render the lack of sugar in the soda
a bit irrelevant? I'd think you'd logically use regular Squirt for
that.

I was just curious why not Vernors or Canada Dry or something a Detroit native
would appreciate more unless its all about the "lime".

Squirt is grapefruit-flavored (supposedly, anyway..), lime doesn't
have anything to do with it.

Re resp:50: I'm not sure exactly what the definition of "soap" is.
Detergents make water "wetter" by breaking up the surface tension.
