Hmm . . . how about that really expensive steak place in Ann Arbor? I
can't remember the name of it, so obviously *I'm* not a patron.

Umm, I think she's actually thinking of Chop House (makes Outback look
cheap... so I hear)

The Chop House, 322 S. Main, is my guess. They've got the ah, interesting
line-art bull logo and send you next door to La Dolce Vita for dessert. I
can't imagine that Knights is more expensive (though i'd rather eat at the
latter). Weber's is also a possibility.

I've never been to any of them. I've never known where to go for a
really good steak when I was in the mood.

Mmmmm...Chop House... definitely worth the price if it's a special occasion.

Yes! Chop House . . . I couldn't for the life of me remember the
name. In fact, I'd forgotten all about trying to remember it. :)

How much, though? $40? $80? $200? I really have no idea.
I'd guess Outback probably runs $20-30 for a reasonable dinner. Bella
Ciao ran around $40, the one time I went there, years ago. Gandy
Dancer is in the $75 range, if I recall correctly. (I only went there
once and the dinner was paid for by someone else via gift certificate,
so I don't really remember.) I thought that was the most expensive
place in Ann Arbor.

I don't dine in these places much either, but I don't think Gandy
Dancer is top of the line. The place formerly known as "Movable Feast"
is probably more expensive. I think it's "Danny's something or other"
now, and they've probably had to lower the prices to go with the dumb
name. Does "Escoffier" still exist?

Gandy dancer has been purchased by the company which owns the Joe's crab Shack
chain. Take that for whatever it's worth.

An average Chop House dinner for two will cost around $150 if you get steak
and dessert.

And good wine. I think you could get out of there for 70-80 if you didn't
drink.

was being pretty well hinted.
