Gainful employment! Clean kitchen! Perpetual motion! IHB I've been too busy
scurrying around and doing things to get depressed. Frantic, yes -- pissy,
occasionally -- but most of the time, cheerfully frantic and pissy, if you
can picture that.
And a highly stressful chapter of my life is getting put on hold soon. The
Undatable One is going to be away all summer, and we've agreed to cool things
off for a while. I'm ambivalent about that in a lot of ways, and decidedly
sad about it in some, but I'm glad I'll have time to think and clear my head.
I might end up more happy moment-to-moment if she were around, but I wouldn't
be able to figure out which end was up the way I so badly need to.

IHB both the kitchen and the bedroom are clean. Only the Living room
left and then I can start moving things around to make room for the
baby's crib.

A nice if abbreviated bike ride, another coat of goo slathered onto
wood, and spinach salad for dinner. I feel so virtuous...
I can see vacation time approaching in the shine of the shelves.

resp:357 It would figure they'd go little-girl retro.
Kid retro in general has been a bit culture shocking: for guys, the
original Transformers have become hip with the high school crowd.
When I was in high school, liking Transformers was very uncool.

I've found a couple stores (Strange Cargo in Chicago and Hot Topic) that sell
things like Strawberry Shortcake, Garbage Pail Kids, Care Bears, and other
early to mid-eighties stuff. It makes me and my friends laugh and reminisce,
and my brother almost fell over when I presented him with a pack of GPK cards.
He hadn't seen them since he was eight. (He's 23 now).

And if you switch the consonants around, it's "Hot Pocket," everyone's
favorite bland microwavable snack food. Coincidence?

Gap for Small Goths. They have a new franchise that supposedly sells
normal-sized stuff, though.

re #354- I had a Holly Hobby bedspread. :) Heh, and my sister still has
most of her Strawberry Shortcake dolls at my parents' house (when she
got done with them she put them all nice and neatly back in their
original boxes... that's my sister for ya!)
IHB- the next month or so is going to be very hectic on weekends- many
many wedding things to be done for both my sister's wedding and my
brother's. (they're a whole two weeks apart. <grins>) So much fun, but
makes for one busy lil mooncat.

IVHB I'm getting my editing job back!!! I get to work from home for the job
I had in Ann Arbor through 2001. I loved that job, and I really missed
working in my "field". I'm so excited!
To top it off, they're assigning me to a new client, and I have to attend a
client orientation meeting on Thursday, May 3rd. That will allow me to have
dinner with Joe and go to SCA dance practice that night. I haven't been to
Ann Arbor in *months*, and I'm looking forward to this.
IAHB Dave and I both had the day off, and we rearranged his apartment and
created a library. Six eight-foot-tall bookshelves, and we *still* don't have
room for all his books. Whew! *sweat*

IHB I was grocery shopping last week and found out that the gods have
invented *Peanut Butter Oreos*!! (hey life is full of small pleasures)
Actually I invented peanut butter oreos myself when I was little, you take
regular oreos and scrape off the vanilla cream and put in peanut butter.
But they make'em now and they are really good, actually they are oreos
with a combination of peanut butter and chocolate creams in the middle.
Pure decadence!
Oh and also happy because I found a book I was looking for, for sometime,
in a used bookstore today. always happy when that happens. now I can
curl up tonight with my book and my peanut butter oreos and figure life
isnt all bad...

IHB because I am finally losing my winter love handles.
I must have lost 4 - 5 pounds in two weeks.
The not eating that much part is the hardest, as I also am in training
for the big cycle adventure, and that burns fuel.
