I shaved my head recently. Very convenient. It's so nice & soft-peach
fuzzy now that my boss petted it until i glared. (This would be less a
problem if said boss were less old, unattractive, & male.)

Heh. No, he's just trying to push my bottons. If i acted interested

Beautiful day outside, the Wings game in less than 2 hours, and I got to
sleep as long as I wanted today. I like Saturday. :)

We noticed a few days ago that the date on our toilet seat is the same month
and year as my sister's birthday. I suggested putting the toilet seat in some
of the graduation pictures. No one liked my idea. :(

I don't think I ought to shave my head. I'm unwilling to cut off the
skinny little tail I've been growing since 1983, so I'd end up looking
like a Hare Krishna.

Sometimes its a matter of looking like something you're not. Last fall there
was a movement on campus for women to wear the muslim head covering to show
support for muslim students on campus... while several students were in
support of the muslim students, and particularly of their right not to be
subjected to harrassment because of their display of religion, they were
uncomfortable wearing the head covering.

My wife Adrienne, whom some of you know, was diagnosed today with a cyst in
her brain (somewhere). We don't really know very much yet but they did at
CT scan yesterday and will be doing an MRI on Thursday. We have an
appointment with a neurosurgeon next Wednesday.
All we know so far is that there is a small cyst, it is not malignant, and
it is likely blocking some blood vessels which is causing her to have these
severe headaches (that started on Friday).
She's very well drugged now (Fiorinal, which is a combination drug consisting
of aspirin, caffeine, and butalbital (a sedative barbituate)). Not feeling
too much pain except when the drug wears off. We will be careful to make sure
she doesn't get addicted or anything. They also gave her Vicodin just in
case.

Hey void, I grew a similar rat's tail in the nape of my neck.
I wasn't able to plait it myself, so I had others do it. But then my SO
of those days left me and the thing started to look like a dread lock.
I had it cut off. Still keep in a drawer, though as a reminder of a
thing I really liked to wear.

How is the caffeine supposed to be helping? Does it shrink the cyst?
I hope there is a very simple and safe cure and that you can somehow manage
not to worry yourself sick.

I'm not sure of the mechanism, but caffeine helps relieve headaches when taken
in combination with at least some painkillers. It makes them more effective.
