Are you engaged in a discussion with me about the existing military presence
in Iraq or are you happier just spouting off about a dead horse we've all
beaten to death?

re #34 Its not a dead horse so long as we're still over there in this
mess. Maybe you are ready to completely forget the reasons that got us
over there, as if they don't matter anymore, but I am not.

Tod - and the administration - are trying to make us believe that how we
got into the war is now irelevant and should be forgotten. They don't
apply that to other crimes, felonies for example, which the law does *not*
forget "in order to get on" with things. Why should the administration's
crimes in getting us into the war go unpunished?

I'm just not interested in rehashing what is already known. I agree the WMD
chicken little stuff was treasonous. What it has to do with reasonable minds
deciding on a withdrawal from Iraq is miniscule. If you want to be kneejerk
about withdrawal as our Prez was about invasion then you're welcome to stoop
to that level of politics. I would hope that those who replace or reverse
GW Bush's regime would at least show some responsibility and forethought.

Richard LIES. Or maybe he was ASLEEP when the news showed VIDEO of
CONGRESSMEN and SENATORS calling SADDAM an IMMINENT THREAT. SOMETHING
that the president, himself, REFUSED TO DO.

But I HOPE Richard will KEEP IT UP, because the American people know
that people like HIM can't be TRUSTED with their SAFETY and will
continue to VOTE for REPUBLICANS.

"Trusted with SAFETY." Nice attempt to inject your false GOP meme. Close,
but no cigar. Now go lie down by your bowl.

KLG wants to forget that the then at least somewhat trusted President of the
United States was taken at his word and believed by people that had no other
source of the truth. That hardly excuses Bush and his cabal for lying.

Speaking of which, I'm going to purchase a FLESHLIGHT, which is a piece of
material in a flashlight-looking case that's apparently one of the most
pleasurable things one can find to stick their penis into.

I'm slightly worried about my parents being home when it gets here, but I
figure it'll probably arrive while they're at work.

If not, I guess I can just say it's something for my computer.

Or just not say something at all, though that would arouse suspicion, which,
I'll tell you, isn't quite what I'm trying to arouse here.

And what if my parents are here but get to the door first?!

Oh dear!

But, uh!

That's not very likely to happen, and won't be an absolute disaster even if
it does happen (customs label sez JOKE ITEM, though the FORUMS part of the
Fleshlight company's website includes at least one story of that being changed
to MASSAGE DEVICE by customs).

Curl, are you pleading ignorance or insanity?

The tapes clearly show congressional leaders going far beyond what the
President said. And they show congressional leaders saying the same
things under the Clinton administration.

Don't you think it is time you showed at least a modicum of honesty??

I don't really care, though. It's people such as yourself who
demonstrate why nobody trusts the Democrats anymore. Keep up the good
work (at least through the next election).

You guys can track my Fleshlight at fedex.com with tracking number

The estimated delivery time is 5:00 PM?! Uh oh! That's right when my parents
will be around! Hopefully that's JUST an estimate?!

It looks like many of the troop deaths have been needless, too:

'A secret Pentagon study, The New York Times reports on Saturday, has
found that as many as 80 percent of the marines who have been killed in
Iraq from wounds to the upper body could have survived if they had had
extra body armor.

'"Such armor has been available since 2003," writes Michael Moss, "but
until recently the Pentagon has largely declined to supply it to troops
despite calls from the field for additional protection, according to
military officials."'

But then, they volunteered for this, right? I guess that makes their
lives cheap, in the eyes of some.

It seems to me that the question now isn't whether we can establish a
democracy in Iraq, but instead how long we want to stay involved in a
civil war between two rival factions of Islam.

Just like Vietnam, where the question became by the early seventies,
not whether we could establish/maintain a democracy in south vietnam,
but how long we wanted to stay involved in a bitter civil war, where
once side was never going to accept our presence there.
