I finished my chinese oral finals today!!!! Woohoo!!! Life is good! I don't
have to speak any more chinese than I want for the next _four_ months!!!! :)

Now if I only didn't have ten pages of written chinese final to do, life would
be good....

I, flem's opponent, also had a great time playing tennis, but I think I
may collapse in a heap in a short while here. (-:

IAHB the rugrats enjoyed swimming yesterday. Half of them regretted not
putting on their gloves before going into the water (the lake is still
quite cold), but the other half learned from that mistake.

Gloves?

IHB its Friday, I worked this morning, and for once I'm fairly lucid. Not
sure what made the difference.

IHB- it's Friday and I leave work in two hours and the boss hasn't come
in yet (course, none of us know if he is even planning to come in at
all...)

IAHB- the horrdidable migraine from yesterday (while still lingering)
has lessened enough for me to be more functional.

While I was trying to get from the bike trail along the river to the Arb, over
a rocky wet area, I told a couple of students to go ahead of me as it would
take me a while to get my bike through that spot. One of them said he bikes
all the time and offered to help. He picked up my bike with one hand and
carried it across while his girlfriend looked on admiringly. I had to manage
the uphill portion through the Arb by myself but at least it was dry.

Re #306: They were trying out the wetsuits we bought for cold*-weather
sailing. (* the kind of cold we get in April, May, October and November:
fairly low water temperatures, air temperatures varying from 30s to 80s, winds
in the ten to twenty knots range.)

IAHB I just chopped off my hair. I really like it long, but it was just
starting to become a problem, so now it's much shorter :)

I man aged to scrape my way into the Wings game tonight. It was,
unfortunately, a disheartening loss, but I got to see some intense playoff
hockey from a surprisingly good seat, complete with the magnificent Steve
Yzerman in all his glory. Years later, the most the stats of this season can
show is whether or not the Wings dynasty won two or three Cups, but seeing
Yzerman play live is something I can tell the grandkids about.

Always look at the bright side. The weather has been marvelous this week,
and it's time to start looking for Stratford tickets.

Let's see:

- Finally got a layer of urethane onto the visible surfaces
of the shelves and boxes. This involved a double cleaning
of the wood surfaces, including a wipe-down with paint
thinner. (Everything takes longer than you think.)

- Got out on my bike in the remaining daylight and made almost
as good speed on the trip as I did on a much shorter jaunt two
days ago, and that despite having to push my way uphill and
upwind into a medium-strong breeze on the outbound leg.

But...

IAHB sailing in April is as much fun as I had hoped. And the money for the
wetsuits appears to be well-spent: we capsised (with malice afore thought)
and weren't dibilitated by the cold. In fact, I didn't notice that the water
_was_ cold. And it wasn't _too_ cold when we got back in the boat.
Admittedly, today was a mild day. Still it gives me hope for the rest of the
Spring. And the Fall, too.

I've been taking voice lessons from arabella lately - so far 6 lessons. Wow,
my singing is twice as loud and a lot better! The morning shower is a whole
different experience now, and not due to a change in soap. ;)
